My civic hybrid show "check charging system", SC quoted me rm15k for repair. Well my loan tenure is 9 years , I still have 3 more years to finish paying. If I sell to secondhand car dealer, I'm offered rm35k ( have to repair first).

If you were me, will you repair it and sell, get another petrol car like honda jazz

or repair it and continue to use it fearing another expensive parts break down again?

Very subjective. Merely based on the need and your financial commitment.

You can always buy another second hand non hybrid car instead which is more realistic.

But you need to source a reliable seller may be from your network of people.

Fixing this car with 15k is not an issue. But just afraid there will be another 15k and another 15k here and there later.

That's why considering to sell based on fear.

Most economical would be to repair and continue to use if it doesn't keep dropping a bomb. Haha

For my case, i replaced the aircond compressor thingy for RM5k include service and drive for another 4 months. Just sold it last 2 days via carsome as my guy in H told me that the most worrying thing is not the battery but the inverter - which i think u kena liao. Repair cost RM15k, when drive until 100k, change 8 spark plug for another RM1k plus. If you havent kena the air cond compressor, standby the money.

For your case, my advise is repair it RM15k and drive till it spoilt since u still have 3 years loan to go. Means no need sell this car liao. Cost u sell liao, u still need to use the money to pay back bank for the balance 3 years and u need another bulk of money to get a petrol jazz.

My car mileage about 80+k km. I heard Aircon compressor issue usually happens to Japan CBU. Is yours Japan or Thailand?

No such thing only to Japan la... Mine is Thailand 2013 also kena...

Mines is from Japan. But i heard from Honda CS, all civic hybrid also having the same problem, depend on ur luck, if u lucky enough, ur aircon might last 4-6 years, those unlucky need to change compressor every 2-3 years... and tis is manufacturer defect, is a design failure which cannot solve by them unless they come out a new design of compressor.

Highlight this matter in the Honda FB.

They need to address this issue for their image sake.

Hi hch owner, when do you all last replacement your 12v battery?
It seem to be last vwry long vs regular car 12v battery.
Just wondering poor battery performance may interrupt thw electronic.
Pls help to check yr battery voltage with multimeter when engine stop.
As well the battery voltage when engine is running.

Pls update us the status.
If it is not fix yet, i would suggest you to diaconnect the 12v battery for app half hour to reset all the program.
Then, hook up new/function 12v baytery.
Hope there is miracle to u.
