uughh!! what if i increased the budget a little bit? about 3k maybe? will take me a while to stack the money..but if its worth it..im up for it..

envy 4 : quite pretty, but way too many complaints about the touch pad, keyboard and the screen..
so no deal

lenovo u410 : pretty, complaints about screen, not enough horsepower from the graphics department.
also kinda no deal sad.gif

inspiron 14z : just had a laptop almost same as that, only lighter and and better battery life. its a better deal than the rest..but uh..im not too sure i want This.

i am sooo sorry guys for being too picky..really, forgive me..but what else would i get for 3k
must have good screen, keyboard, touchpad. discreet graphics is a huge plus.
need/want a good battery life.

i asked here because i just cant find 'the' laptop..
*
For me, just go for the laptop u like, don't care too much about other's complain. Even now u feel the inspiron 14z better than other, if u not lucky enough, u also will get the set with touch pad, keypad, screen got problem 1... (touchwood)

I prefer buying at shop, because easier for repairing. Can get Lenovo Y480 with GT650M or GTX660M for 2.5k?
If I upgrade to 8GB ram + blu ray DVD then will it cost more than 3k?

Thanks man!
But seems like got even newer Z480 now with GT640M  sweat.gif

No worth to spend extra Rm300 for another 2gb ram and 250gb hdd, saw a bro say now it come with GT640, even SG here still GT630. If the bro who share it, the info is true, then will be a good steal @ Rm21xx. Now IT stuff, really is today buy the latest model, tomorrow outdated... doh.gif

QUOTE(Frostlord @ Aug 18 2012, 10:30 PM)
hi all

am planning to get new laptop

1. Brand : Anything but Asus, Acer, Compaq
2. Budget : 3k
3. Usage : moderate gaming (WoW and maybe new transformer?)
4. Preferred laptop/screen size : at least 14"
actually i found 1 laptop suitable for me. iirc the model is Lenovo G480. but i cant seem to find it on the net. the specs are (if not mistaken)
i5 CPU
4GB (2x2GB) RAM
2GB VGA (forgot Nvidia or ATI)
standard wireless

i check in laptop section, the closest i found is Y480, but the price differ too much. 2099 (G480) vs 2699 (Y480). so i dont think its the same

can anyone clarify the model for me?  icon_question.gif
also, if can please suggest any laptop that suits my usage above

by the way, how is Lenovo quality and service? i ask the shop for their service center, both shop give different answer (USJ 1 and Bandar Utama)

please help  icon_question.gif

If u get G480, try take a look on Z480 with Rm1999, i5 3rd gen processor...

so i did not get the model wrong?

because i went to Lenovo MY website and i can only find G470 and G475 sweat.gif

i just checked Z480 specs, i dont think it suits me due to its integrated VGA card

I'm considering 2 laptop and having hard time to decide  rclxub.gif :-
HP Pavilion G4-2110tu (W7HP) VS Asus A43SD-VX428 (dos)
I does not care much about the window OS, i can purchase the software and install later....

1. Preferred Brand : Asus VS HP
2. Budget: both are +- RM1500
3. Usage : for assignment (microsoft office), watching movies and surfing internet.
4. Preferred laptop/screen size: both are 14 inch.

Any advice on choosing the 2?  hmm.gif

Thanks in advance  smile.gif

For HP, the price is Rm1799. U may consider Lenovo G480 at price and it come with i5 processor but freedos...
