QUOTE(gha4 @ Jan 4 2013, 01:05 AM) yeah, but i shy want to bring my bike there since mine just an LC whereby there may be a lot of superbikes waiting in line. I don't think you need to bring any paperwork, unless you bought a new bike that comes with a few coupon for free service. Correct me if I am wrong. Other than that, just bring money. Quite likely, they will look at your meter, and suggest take some package. Big bike small bike, all Yamaha bike, they won't ignore you.if anyone knows the procedure of going in like, have to take number or what? need to bring any documents together? i completely have zero knowledge about that. Added on January 4, 2013, 10:05 pmAny of you guys disable the accelerator pumps on the stock LC carb? Saves fuel consumption during city ride, but engine throttle respond will reduce. Yes, because by lifting the needle, the taper effect starts earlier than normal. So, once you open throttle a bit, the needle jet starts to mix fuel already... My guess the bog is due to slightly rich.
BS carb is pilot screw open more, will make it lean or rich? Perhaps you need to make pilot jet leaner a bit. Main jet affects WOT only. Unless you have problem at that throttle position, otherwise don't change it. |

If air screw is at the back of the carb, meaning closer to the engine than the air filter box, means it is a fuel jet. Closing it fully, means leanest. Opening it more, is richer. Now, since you already richen the jet needle, it might have affected the idle fuel circuit also, so you can actually open the pilot screw just a little bit less, for idle and off-idle tuning.
So, if stock setting is 1 5/8 turn, then perhaps now you need to close it a bit, to something like 1 1/2 turn, more or less. For you, either you sandpaper the shim thinner, make sure your 1/4-3/4 throttle performance is good, then tune your pilot screw for idle and off-idle performance. |

Nice pics, it seems BS25 is using smooth taper jet needle. For a constant velocity carb, ideally, it should not require needle shim. Only changing pilot and mainjet should be sufficient.
Can you please use spoiler when tagging big photos? I lazy to scroll on my phone... also slow to load. paiseh. Let me know what jet sizes you are looking for, and what's your budget? For the jet needle, also let me know what number you want. I'm not as free to roam around these days, but if I do get a chance I'll ask for it. If you can, PM me your cell number. I think there's 17.5. Then again, there isn't a carb called BS25 by Mikuni, really rare case.
I went to Tokico, but it seems they have really closed shop and moved to main branch. Last time being there, they don't have jets or needles that looks like this. |
