high comp? prepare to retune ur ignition timing... and of course might have to go RON97 too if too high.

but yeah...go dori dori and seek their advise.

the best is of course a combo of cams+high comp pistons.

but id go for cams... watever cams u go for do make sure that ur ECU can handle those cams.. if u no management, u need to budget for that oso if the cams u take are pretty high.

the only reason i went high comp with my engine is coz the engine letup.. so had to rebuild...since the engine was out....might as well high comp straight. had a slight issue after that especially since my management only had a/f ratio tuning and no ignition tuning option... whp stayed the same, though torque increased by 2.... with a very rough graph.

but now got something with a/f and ignition tuning and gained about 15whp....torque gained another 2 so total 4kg torque gained biggrin.gif n a much smoother graph too.
n wat do u mean by "piston"head"? to increase compression u typically have to change the entire piston. u cant cut off the head of the piston only

Hi bro, basically i have everything for either high cam or high comp. I have Works Engineering EMS can tune ignition timing, with adjustable fuel regulator, etc..
So now after you change your ecu with ignition timing, you gained extra 15whp? That's wow. No high cam i assume?
Is there any jerking issue?

erm dun forget his 1 is VTEC, we are just CPS. and also the engine displacement difference.

well what i meant was, dun expect that much of gain on our CPS, later u will get disappoint if the gain is lesser. biggrin.gif

meaning change piston only la...not piston head....

conrod of course use back (unless damaged).. if change conrod means use forged conrods already....n forged conrods costs about the same price as forged pistons (for VTECs at least)

no high cam... stock b18c type r cam....no jerking oso.

since u have management already... kasi hentam itu cam + high comp 1 shot la

but yeah... 15whp

pics of my dyno chart

BEFORE IGNITION TUNING
AFTER IGNITION TUNING
no change in setup before and after except for a new air intake setup.
(notice how much smoother the line is after ignition tuning, can be smoother, but need to find better tuner i guess or mebbe hondata)

agreed... i posted mine to give the idea that with proper tuning, yes u can get gains from higher compression....but dont expect as much as mine coz mine is VTEC 2.0 and urs is CPS 1.6

emanage cannot work with proton siemens right? stick to the works then.

but seriously... standalone better...get that if u can afford

yup, emanage can only tune the air fuel on campro but not the ignition.
I'm using unichip, so far so good la.

i thought e-damage manage cant use at all with siemens ecu? itll basically reset everything right?

n typically (for other engines at least) e-damage manage can tune ignition if u have the ignition harness.

not sure about the details, i just heard something like that it can tune the air fuel but not ignition from my friend, which is also the 1 that tune mine.

Use haltech, at GT Auto, RM4.1k doh.gif

yeah acceptable though i do recommend going high cam later down the line....i also planning on the same thing... just money no enough yet tongue.gif

actually if u plan on high cam+high comp... better to go high comp first... then at least u can run in the pistons properly...and when the cams come in... straight go onto the dyno.

either way... always... ALWAYS retune ur ECU whenever u make changes...

n 4.1k for haltech is actually ok la...

right....but if during run in u experience knocking, better do some slight adjustments to ur fuelling and ignition to stop the knocking
