You should have root access in order to edit any system file in your phone.

CM9 doesn't comes with those stock file explorer, Gmail and other few apps. you can download those manually from google play or just restore those apps thru titanium back up

no, you just download the apps for file xplorer such as astro file explorer via google play store and install it.

it should depends on your telco coverage also. last time i was in a 3g area for celcom but my phone can only manage to get edge connection which is damn slow.

can you be specific about your rom, setting and etc?

sync your contact with your google account..go to accounts&sync>>select your google account>>select sync contacts

now its ok is it? before your are on GB rom right? right now i'm using the stock ICS rom for G version and didn't have any hang or restart issue. make sure your sd card is not full or something. make sure you didn't install any.apk file taken from any website..

don't go too cheap on your 1500 worth of phone. buy a good quality SP and casing. if not you will regret it if you got scratch or drop your phone.

SP will not effect touch sensitivity, not for my phone.

try and choose which contact to display either sims, phone or google account or etc.

i prefer to have some protection on the nice but fragile lcd..you never know if you child use a fork to write something on your phone.hahaha!!

Are you using samsung stock rom? Go to settings>about phone. There you can check ur phone.model, android version etc. If you are using i9100g, try update to ics via kies. Maybe it can help like mine.
