After driving thw car for a certain period, i find the steering at high apeed ia a bit odd. Understand the car come qith some some feature tht will make the steering heavier while thw car is on the cruise...but just feel a bit weird bout it.

Well not really. The Civic may not have the looks but its specs are quite ok. It does have Stability Control which is the most important feature after safety belts. Both Civic 1.8 & Elantra come with 2 airbags. The Civic also comes with 5 yrs unlimited mileage warranty and 6 free services. So the Civic isnt really an empty shell.

actually scrap that.. you're right.. VSA = ESP + VSM for the Elantra.. solli solli.

its more of an addition to the ESP rather than a more advance system. Normal ESP detects loss of control (oversteer/understeer) and applies braking/traction control to help bring the vehicle back under control. VSM on the other hand applies counter steering assist (up to 8 Newton counter steering) to help bring directional stability. An example i can think of is when speeding on a highway and driving one side into a water puddle where you will get a sudden pull in one direction. If i understand correctly, VSM will kick in to counter the pull.

like i said, if possible, i do not want to find myself in those situations, but its good to know that our cars have these safety features ready to kick in, as compared to some recently launched D segment car

Guys, for your info Hyundai Motor and Labor Union has reached agreement to end strike in Korea last week. So new car delivery should improve soon.  My SA has been using this strike excuse on delays, now i am gonna push him gao gao!  Almost end of the year already, if i am not getting mine on time, i would rather switch to other car.
