for those that try to use msia cc to order,
why cant use those virtual cc ?

Not sure how to help you. I just wait for half year see whether it's officially here. If it isn't, then buy AP set laugh.gif I believe it will be cheap by that time. If you're not rushing, why don't wait for 1 month or so, wait forumers bring them in in large quantity.

About the OTG matter ...
I jut read a post about a person successfully rooted n7 but not able to watch video directly from usb device but he could transfer the file to n7 and watch it ...

My question is ... can we use OTG to connect ALL usb devices ?? Example 500 gb external hdd.
*
QUOTE(damned_dude @ Jul 8 2012, 02:33 AM)
I have read about this somewhere.. the OTG hack allows all types of usb mass storage, except for the spinning disk type. E.g, external hard disk.

Not sure if i understand it correct though. Other tablet can support external hard disk? All I know is that even ipad do not allow that kind of stuff so there is not many reason to be disappointed.
*
QUOTE(im_not_stupid @ Jul 8 2012, 02:50 AM)
this is the meaning of hackability mentioned in the google IO  brows.gif
*
QUOTE(thieflord @ Jul 8 2012, 08:36 AM)
yup, a very open os.
unlike one we know..  brows.gif
*
Actually... It can support mass storage but maybe not all 2.5" harddisk. 3.5" powered harddisk shouldn't be a problem. The main problem here is the power supply. USB harddisk is meant to function at 5V while tablet/phone batteries is normally 3.7V with a max voltage of 4.2V. You can't expect it to perform like a USB port on our laptop/PC. The current output is also much much lower. If you get what I mean icon_idea.gif

Yea I forgot about the external-powered hard disk.

Anyway Microsoft Surface tablet has a dedicated usb port specially for external storage. I guess they support the 2.5" usb-powered external hard disk?  hmm.gif

Damn la all these competition me so pening pening  rclxub.gif

Yesterday was my first time holding a 7 inch tablet (Galaxy Tab)....

It... seems... so.. small.........

anyone know where to buy? tongue.gif 199usd !!! i'm in!
*
Better wait and get from forumer here. Else if you're going to buy on your own, it will be:
199USD+15USD: Tablet+Shipping to US Address
66USD : USPS Priority Shipping+Insurance
Which make it
280USD~RM900

If you're a bit earlier, you might join the bulk and get it at around 800 shipped to your doorstep. I din join though. Going to wait half year yawn.gif

Bro u meant its going to take half a year for Nexus 7 to be available locally here?. This is bad.
*
shocking.gif Do I say that? I said wait for the price drop. Take Galaxy Nex as example. The price at launch is 2.2k. Price half year later 1.4k. 7months later 1.2k. I don't have any discrete news here. Just personal thought laugh.gif Anyway, I still got Galaxy Nexus which is considered quite huge.

Yup. The quad core is for the sake of project butter biggrin.gif

I wonder what will happen if google are producing a $399 or maybe $499 tablet.. maybe 12cores!?! O.o

Well ipad is lucky that ppl at google are not targeting them. Maybe it's the lack of tablet app in android.
*
But apple is bad that they're targeting Google.
First, banned GTab 10.1 then Nexus. Now they're going to produce mini ipad (rumour). 7~8" doh.gif

rm868 is too much..... its only 199$, it should be rm600, like new ipad, when they announce the price, its 499$, so it will be rm1500, no extra tax or whatsoever
*
hmm.gif 868 is seriously not too much. Because it's not available in Malaysia yet. Now only in US. Even if you preorder directly from google, google charges you USD 15 delivery to US address. Then you need to use forwarding service that helps you forward your parcel from US Address to Malaysia, it will be a fee for their commission and another 66USD for postage from US to Malaysia. That means at least 199+15+66+i think 10 or 20 commision for them. Means it became around 290USD~300USD = RM930~960. nod.gif

this tablet is just wonderful, i suppose it is build to compete in the cheapest tablet in market but i think they should make another option including a good camera behind and a 3G slot for users to choose.
*
If they do so, they'll probably charge you another 500 extra

yeap i know, 500 extra for camera and maybe 300-400 extra for 3G, the price will be the same as and ipad, i i really think it has the potential to wipe ipad
*
I mean 500 for camera+3G tongue.gif
Anyway, I can understand the need for 3G but not really the need for Camera. It's good to have it but when it comes to budget constraint, I would think camera is not needed. Using a phone to take picture will gives better image due to stability. It's harder to keep your hand stable with a tablet compared to a phone.

if its 500 for both i think it'll be worth it, coz for ipad, if you want 3G is +another 400 -__-. you got a point there must as well use a phone than tablet smile.gif
*
Not just iPad. Galaxy Tab +3G also another 300~400. Of course the actual cost is a lot lesser than 300 perhaps not even 100 but that's how they earn. laugh.gif
Maybe a mifi can be used as replacement but inconvenient to charge two devices. Unless you turn the MiFi on only when you need it. Always on then the mifi dies before tab dies. hmm.gif

EDIT: I forgot that Adding 3G in a Tab = More Tax!!!!

i have a question in mind. is the battery replaceable? the back can open one?

No. It can open up but not the usual way like opening up Galaxy Nexus/Samsung phones back cover/any phones with removable battery cover. It's assembled. Just that according to ifixit, is quite easily taken apart with some tools. Does that considered replaceable?? laugh.gif

Just use your GNex charger. USB Output standard worldwide. 5V 1A GNex charger will work.
