Actually , mine doesnt have any problem .
I think most of the user here doesnt have any big problem .
Those xda user make me worry at 1st , but now i know they are too picky .
Some of them return 7 + devices . I don think you will be so unlucky that you can get 7 faulty device .
And nexus 7 have international warranty . Anything just send to asus .

True as well. Eventually i'm worry at first. feel a bit better when heard Asus has released international warranty. So finally decided to order.

so far no update yet on when Malaysia will 'officially' bring this product. but as the warranty is international, then no different if you buy the 'ap' set now.. as long as the price is cheap!

at the moment we are selling at only rm989 for the 16gb version.

Anyway, realized that directd have dropped their price in lelong.com.my, signs that the official set will be lower than 1199?

How do you guys decide whether to get the 8/16GB version? Originally I was eyeing for the 8GB one for price point, but now starting to be afraid that it is not enough, since my Nexus S also is 16GB already.

How much memory free space your Nexus S have left? Bear in mind, 8GB doesn't give you the full 8GB. It will come 4-5 GB available only at best or maybe even less. Do a Google search to confirm this. As for the 16GB, mine had about 13GB free memory out of the box.

So how to decide? Nobody can answer that for you, really. You can use your usage of your Nexus S memory as a guide, I suppose. But having more is always better than less, especially if the price difference is not too great.

Added on August 29, 2012, 12:55 pmCraaappp... I had sent my unit in to Asus Malaysia SC for screen lifting and screen flickering issues. Sent it in on 23 Aug 2012. Also waiting for spare parts, though I dunno exactly what they intend to change - mebbe the wifi component (quite possible) or the frame of the unit holding the screen (rather wishful thinking). When I first sent in, the guy told me they may even change the LCD! Dunno for what...

If yours sent in on 17 Aug also not yet kao tim... my one... err... die lorrr... hahaha! I just called them, they say my case may need another 2-3 weeks because have to order parts from overseas. Mebbe they giving me a new unit due to the screen lifting issue? Another round of wishful thinking.... kakaka

I will give them 2 more weeks (after Raya and Merdeka) before I call them or direct go to their office...mine sure need to change the speaker...regarding the screen lifting I didn't check it

I suggest you check for the screen lifting problem on the spot when you collect your unit. Then can make noise on the spot. If they had opened up the unit to replace your speakers, the screen lifting *may* happen then. So, good to check on the spot.

And hopefully, your part/s come in the same time as mine and we can both get our repaired units back at around the same time i.e. early!

Too bad. Here dont have 1 to 1 swap. Possible taking longer as currently we dont have spare part here. But this will change when official release (hopefully another month), then we no longer need to wait longer
