Tried the Nimbus .... sad to say the fit is very tight at the arches.........wah Brooks 30% off what T&C ???????
Brooks narrow shoe

.......

the massive discount (above) is useless to me then.
The main reason for these types of shoes 'was' that I could run better barefoot. But I didnt like the look of my foot after a short run. FYI I didnt run at all prior to.
Another thing this thread is great for constructive replies. Thank you very much for that.

Not all Brooks shoes are narrow. Brooks & NB offers EE width, that is extra wide. But unless Ur foot is very wide, the extra width can lead to discomfort due to too many movements of the toes. Brooks have this new line of shoes under their Pure Project line, the Pure Connect is the lightest but it's also the narrowest. Pure Cadence offers support for medium to high arch runners, with a little more toe room. The other 2 models are the Pure Flow & Pure Grit.

What is shoe last? issit like shape? should i pick those with the front shape that is curve abit?

U won't see a shoe's last in a shoe. Shoe's last is the shoe's mould at the factory.

Yo there, I am 3 min slower than you, kinda disappointed as it is poorer than my target time. All the way is smooth, my friends said the route is super boring

muscle started to stiff at 18km, walking mostly, until enter the stadium cheong all the way to finishing line.
Dislike:
No remote toilet all the way, saw some guy just pee besides the bush.
No signboard to show how many km, kinda lost except I know every 4 km has water station, 5 km has sponge station
Water station is too far apart
No cheering crowds unlike standard chartered's
For 7km runner, no signboard as well to show how many km they are now
Like: milo car

I will be back with second HM very soon because I want to beat my personal record!
Looks like ppl have very high expectations nowadays becoz of a few well organized events. While it's a good thing that can force the other organizers to up their standards, U can't expect every event to be as well organized as say, Standard Chartered. At Standard Chartered they have a corporate sponsor that can afford to pay for a pro organizer, pay for the course to be AIMS certified & lotsa other things. But the goodie bags ? I'd say PJ HM is better. So U can't expect the moon & the stars U know...
Guys peeing in the bush is very normal at any event. I've done it several times. The water station is spaced 4km apart, which is adequate. What is not adequate is the volunteers manning the stations & the size of the stations. I only stopped at the last 2-3 stations. I've stopped relying on water stations quite sometime ago...tht's why I bring my own water.
Cheering crowds ? Well.. the event is on a Federal Highway, we didn't go through any residential areas & the traffic is pissed off becoz they got stuck. We're just lucky nobody threw eggs or stones at us. If U want friendlier crowds U have to run at Singapore or Japan races...
I agree the KM markers are useless. It was made worse for me becoz my Garmin ran out of battery after less than an hour, I thought I had it recharged the night before. I'd reckon I did around 2:10-2:15... didn't plan to go fast anyway becoz I just recovered from an injury.
