Since you worked in a repair shop before, have you seen any laptop that has crack on one side of the ram holder? Mine is slight crack(doesnt hold that well) but the other is holding very well. Long term would it be good? or should i diy put more super glue on the crack? i put a bit of superglue on the crack but afraid if i put more then glue will spill to other place.

nope.. Just so all of you know..

WARRANTY IS NOT VOIDED UNLESS YOU REMOVE THE WARRANTY VOID STICKER...

where is this sticker located? its on the heatsink screw covering the cpu and vga.. other than that, you are free to dismantle the whole machine as you like..

that said, make sure you can fix it back !!. dun dismantle anything you cant put back together.. cos although you can bring it back to ASUS service centre to get it done, my guess is your machnie serial number will be flagged.. meaning if in the future if anything goes wrong, they might turn around and say you did it on purpose..

so if you really wan to maximise your ram :
1. please do so carefully ( i use a video camera to record how i dismantle so that i will know how to assemble it back )
2. go to asus service centre to get it done.

i dismantled this myself because, i used to work in a laptop service centre.. and i have always repaired all of my laptops by myself.. i juz purchase the parts outside..

You have been warned.

nope no tweak.. but i'm not sure if it's a software or hardware.. but seems doing a pretty good job to protect the battery.. because by removing the battery the laptop would lose it's balance.. but if u plugged in and the battery keeps on charging.. would cause the battery life to decrease alot faster.. smile.gif

Found out why.
In the manual, it is stated that the battery will only be charged when it is below95%. So, the sign only pops out when you plug it in when they are above 95%. but once it goes below 95, it will charge to 100 and still sip the battery life away.

BTW, I just realised that there's a way to make Windows bootup much faster.

Go msconfig > Boot > Advanced Option > Tick No of processors: 4

Restart and try. For mine it improved. Can someone verify?

Arvin is probably spending some quality time with his G55. smile.gif
I just got back from Gadgetzone BJC & they told me that they have 3 more units left as of 8pm at Gadgetzone Gurney.
