Hi , looking for a new phone .

1. any brand should be ok , except samsung , really bad experience with that brand
2.budget less then 1k
3. specs :

-mostly going to use for basic stuff , not really for gaming
-thinking bout front camera .
-average screen , not too small, will be using as ebook reader . also small screen susah to type.
-decent battery life
-camera should be decent , no need very high quality stuff.
-dont really need deep social integration , dont use facebook , twitter that much .
-need radio.


4. normal shape.

I noe , seems like long list , but its my first smartphone, so just want to be thorough, plus , will buying for long term usage ( a few years at least)

Sony xperia U, Huawei honor or HTC desire S. Xperia U got the best spec but no card slot, honor got the biggest screen and desire S got 2 years warranty(if registered within 1 week of purchase) so it'll be good for your long term use.

xperia sola or U

actually was considering xperia sola , but the let down was no front camera. desire v looked good too , but same problem

desire s . hmm really didnt cross my mind , but ill have a look. does it get ICS ?

btw , do you think front camera is really important ? not really sure if i need it .

Yeah, desire S will get ICS. For me I dun think front camera is important, dun really see the purpose.

I read alot book on my hp . Until now , i have afew criteria when choosing it .

- big screen
- decent battery
- nice shape
- light weight

IF front cam does matter , can consider Motorola ATRIX 4 inch screen wit front cam dual core about Rm1000
although heavy abit but overall quite decent . NO radio tho .

Recommend xperia Arc next. Although single core , it do basic stuff without lag .
Have radio , battery last 8hour plus with screen on all the time , looks square when look from front .
NO front cam . Not sure if you really want it as you don use skype etc


Next choice is xperia pro / neo both have front cam and pro have qwerty keyboard for easy messaging .

Oh ya, atrix / atrix 2 are quite a lot better than desire S. Forgotten about it, sorry. But atrix still dunno when will get ICS, not much news but atrix 2 will get soon.
