first feedback on MagSafe 2 biggrin.gif
the way i look at it also doesn't seem to be good.
L shaped is much better, doesn't come off when you're turning the laptop sideways

For those of you who carries your MBP around everyday, is the 15 inch too big and cumbersome. 13 inch is more convenient to carry around but I don't want to miss out on the Retina Display screen... Dilemma.
If only they have the 13 inch  Retina Display...
*
Of course 15 inch is big but the new Retina MBP is lighter than the previous 15" MBP.
I have used 13" MBA, MBP 15" (2010) and now owning a 15" MBPRD.

I tried to carry the MBPRD on both Messenger type bag and Backpack.
I guess carrying on Backpack for long trip would be the best way. tongue.gif

Hmm... I am using a new MBA and i guess the magsafe 2 is to protect the laptop so it wont go flying off when somebody kick on your wires since its so light even my 1.5 yrs old can lift it.

Welcome aboard. MagSafe 2 is the thinner version of MagSafe.
Its been there for some time.
Saved your laptop from flying.

I saw a few laptops literally flew in my collage library. Someone ran in the library and tripped the adapter. laugh.gif

I had the same dilemma as you. But I thought no point getting MBP 13" when it will eventually get replaced with Retina Display sometime in the future. So I went with the RDMBP 15".

I don't carry it around EVERYDAY, but I do about 3-4 times a week in and around uni. And I got myself a messenger bag for it. It's a little larger, but the lightness makes up for it. So I have no complaints whatsoever.

Thanks for the feedback. Is Messenger bag those you sling across your shoulders?

Ya, the fact that the 13 inch MBP will soon be replaced by Retina Display screen makes it not so attractive at the moment.

Umm, not sure about backpacks. You can try Crumpler. I'm using a Crumpler Pinnacle of Horror. Perfect for 15" laptops. I was looking at other Crumpler bags too, but this had a decent space for books, notepads, etc that's why I chose it.

Thanks, I checked out Crumpler backpack before at Pavilion. They cost around RM 500 - 600.

Checked out TUMI at Gardens. It costs around RM 1800 onwards.

I was hoping to get one around RM 200+ thereabouts.

Might need to check out other cheaper backpack brands...

If your friend install developers GM (Gold Master) version, it is the final release version. Developers get GM a few weeks earlier before release to AppStore/consumer. Apple have been doing this since the Leopard (10.5) days. Before Leopard, Apple sends CD/DVD to developers, sometimes after the release of OS X.

You can check his mac's about box for the OS X version.
