K&N nid to buy their cleaning kits too if u wanted to wash the filter by ur own if its dirty and it would cost around RM 90. Inside the box it will have 1 bottle of washer and 1 bottle of oil. washer for u to wash the filter then oil for u to apply back to filter after wash and dry to gain back the red colour and filter the dust/dirt =)

open pod/mushroom air filter will not and must not have issue with police/jpj.
law does not says that we cant change the air filter to open pod.
I've encounter with JPJ myself which they though im using HID for headlamp where im just using philips bulb.
they requested me to open my bonnet and i did it which then they could not fine me for the philips bulb and b4 they release me 1 of the officers tell me..wa lu punye kereta cantik a..air filter pun cantik, mana buat? haha
i just reply him..I custom one and then im able to leave =)

If can get a good custom work to do open pod, can get it very cheap actually, n this open pod+heatshield setup, u can get 5hp on wheel.. Otherwise, a good exhaust system can do wonders to ur car's performance... If auto, maybe open pod is not the best for ur car, but manual, both also can... Exhaust, if auto, need to use s-flow, manual both also can... Happy RnD n tuning bro to get ur best setup

Yeap I did change my exhaust system.
everything u change for performance, it will have the effect..just that whether its a huge one or just minor one. =)
of course with a proper exhaust system, it will give u the best output of ur car's current condition

btw u're driving auto or manual?
some says open pod are not that suitable for auto but still it depends on what u wan

dont buy the heat shield also ok one..just that the air filter will be sucking the air from the radiator fan xD
last time my set up also like that.
manual then u can go for open pod
u can go accessory shop and ask for myvi ram pipe..the materiel is aluminum whereas hot bits one is metal =)
btw..i did suggest u go do ur air filter 1st then only go for ur exhaust if u're planning to custom ur whole exhaust system insist of buying those ready made plug n play for myvi like dsport or superstreet as after changed the air filter the air flow will be different so different set-up like diff piping size and position of the bullet will be slightly different in term of "professionalization" lol 

no worries about the air filter sound..u will like it
but for exhaust..different set-up will have diff sound..so cant tell u the accurate one xD

oh thanks bro! i found that too before. My question is, my current SE1 front bumper is aftermarket one, and the foglight they kinda retrofitted it with some DIY material, and i saw some guy selling the fog lamp with holder for the SE1 front bumper, selling at 230, would it fit on my aftermarket bumper? i mean is there screw for them to screw the holder+foglight into the place together? is it adjustable?

haha know what i did today? i take out the tyre (cuz rim too large damn blocking) and take out the fender, and realize phew... it has them screw holes.. gonna proceed and buy those fog lamp to pasang dy.. and take out the existing one. =P

btw, i found fog light (is ori claimed by the seller) selling around RM230.. is it okay the price?

K&N is very renowned brand. They even guaranteed that using their filters, it wont void the manufacturer's warranty.
But in the end, the RM 280 you paid, is just for the name. So, go with which you can afford.

with heatshield? THe one you want to buy is drop in or open pod?

If open pod, then yes, it is a must. A heatshield is important to filterout the engine heat from being sucked into the air intake.

BTW, heatshield can easily be DIY only. Total cost dont even need RM30 for a simple heatshield.

The heatshield that was supplied together with the filter is usually plastic. Dunno issit PVC or not lah.

K&N open pod alone costs RM510? 

with that money, might as well opt for Pipercross. At least Pipercross is used in rally, F1 and Indy Cars. Proven track record.
