QUOTE(IceBikers @ Jul 9 2012, 01:40 PM)
you are right, I'm concerned too about the strong brake force, cause  I have been gone thru numerous tire lock experience and it ain't feel safe at all.

Perhaps I should look at braided hose first. If changing, does rear drum brake need to change as well, or just front disc brake???
*
Use better tires.. Tires like Toyo T1-R and Goodyear F1 Asymmetric 2 are reasonably priced and very grippy. Grippy tires can prevent tires from locking as it provides more grip.

QUOTE(ziggy87 @ Jul 9 2012, 07:22 PM)
grille closed got what advantage?
cooling how? move elsewhere? blink.gif

QUOTE(dares @ Jul 9 2012, 09:11 PM)
If they can close the grille for better aerodynamics without compromising cooling, why put a grille in the first place?  rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif
*
When low speed, a open grille is needed due to the low amount of air flow..
When high speed the amount of air flow is high, therefore the grille can be closed.
Drag on the vehicle increases EXPONENTIALLY as speed increases linearly. Therefore when reaching a certain speed, closing the grille will reduce drag by around 5-12%.. Which can save quite some fuel at top speed..

Never ever touch the bulb glass.. Always hold the bulb by the bottom connector..

hmmm.. Can try Continental Premium Contact 5 or Goodyear Efficient Grip.. But shd be around Rm420 a piece like that.. Good performance in wet and dry, and low rolling resistance cos its touring tires.. and low noise too..

QUOTE(abong8 @ Jul 10 2012, 03:28 PM)
Last time, I've used dunlop lm703 indon rubber 225/40/18.. Noisy, but the grip not bad..
*
Dunlop now i think going to pupus from malaysia.. last time when Dunlop was sold together with Sime tires.. after continental joint venture with it, now dunlop left alone by itself.

need help urgently.. my car batt died.. so order century to come replace.. our car battery is din55r right? how much is it?
thy quoted me at first century marathon rm280.. than thy say no stock so call dealer.. dealer call me b say rm300.. i told thm about rm280 thn thy say okok..

now the dealer called say got stock.. so rm280.. after i gave them my address the fella call say no stock.. zzzz only got yokohama. same price same spec.. am i getting con? i tried looking around no price.
*
Yokohama also not bad.. Im using it now.. I upgraded to NS70 size..
Original size in our car is DIN45R. The biggest size that can go into our car without modification is DIN55R. NS70 will require you to cut out a bit of the base plate so that it can fit in the oversize battery into it.

How about REDLINE??

are you chinese?? haha
If not, then you might not be understand this.
*
Redline is stainless steel filter.. Higher airflow at the expense of Poorer filtration. Would suggest u to take Works Engineering/Simota instead.. Better filtration but slightly lesser air flow..

If Simota has Better filtration but slightly lesser air flow.
Air flow got what effect or not??
Nothing much different de right??
*
Simple to say. More air = more power. Its like turbocharging ur car.. U force more air in so it can generate more power. Better filtration over long term helps a lot .. Such as u dont need to clean the throttle body so frequently. Msian roads are dusty.. So its very easy for dust to accumulate very fast if filtration is poor..

I have a friend who drives satria neo and uses K&N filters. He never reoil using the oiling kit, only wash and replace everytime. Ended up his car 40k km+ only the filter koyak.. He didnt know till he felt throttle response a bit slower than normal.. So later open up the throttle body time super dirty and can see the filter got 2 patches which is very thin and bocor..

Works so far no such problem for me. Well for a start i dont wash my filter.. I just bang it hard on the floor and it gets 80-90% of the dust and debris out. Dont really need to bother the last 10% of dirt. Its going to get dirty back anyways. FREQUENT cleaning is more important than how clean u can get the filter.

If u were to get K&N and reoil everytime, how many times are u willing to reoil? How often are u willing to reoil? If i were to clean my air filter every 3-4k km and u reoil every 10k km, which would give better overall performance? Thats what u shd consider.

QUOTE(Cavino @ Jul 11 2012, 01:21 PM)
Aiyo why have to clean yourself, superlazy ppl like me will continue using stock filter. Might not have maximum performance but then again, throttle body performance will take much longer to deteriorate thus sort of gaining much more consistent performance over long term. For drop in, max performance initially, then wash, etc. However performance deterioration from dirty throttle body will gradually makan into the performance gain. Thats my 2-cents only.

Stock filter, change every 10K instead of 20K, best filteration and adequate air flow. No air flow block coz change at 10K before it get the change to clog up impairing airflow. I think that would give better consistent performance that drop in over long term.

As for the price, its abt RM18-RM20 for stock filter. Hit 100K milage only RM180 to RM200. In theory drop in like Simota will last as long as the car, it is true but as with all types of filters, after longer term usage, there will be a LOT of persistent dirt sticking permanently there thus sort of impair part of the air-flow, some more have to clean yourself, then WAIT for it to dry. Knocking out dirt like what Zen do will do as well but worse persistent dirt sticking over long term.

For stock filter, it is slightly more costly in long term BUT garanteed clean and balanced performance over 10K period, then change a new one, back to same initial balance non-impaired air flow performance. Less than a minute job changing each time.
*
lol.. But there is quite a lot of difference between stock and drop-in filter.. U have to try it first.. hehe..

I heard abt no air-gunning filters. Damage the filter cotton or wire?
*
Yeah,. when the fibres are wet, the structure are softer and are more malleable. So using air gun can actually enlarge the pores or damage the structure at worst.

Anyways guys, Goodyear F1 Directional 5 im able to get it for around RM400 a piece for 205/55R16.. Anybody can help me search around for a better deal?

Goodyear Efficient Grip cost a bomb though.. But its the 2nd highest rated tire after Continental Premium Contact 5.

Was thinking of waiting till Continental Premium Contact 5 out and see the tire rating.
Saw got Continental Max Contact 5 available, RM365 a piece.. Traction A, Treadwear 340. Thread looks quite good actually..
