Finally Need for Speed Most Wanted. My all time favourite racing game!

honestly...another good title need for speed that been butchered by EA...job well done EA...u have successfully butchered every single good game in the past..and rebooted it into a crap...what different does this make from hot pursuit? lol...

Completely the same game, with a new shiny skin.

Not gonna get it then.

Hated Burnout Paradise as it feels like its a kind of game that is designed to be really fun and addictive in the first 30 hours or so. After the initial play time, the game just become a chore and boring to play. Same thing happened with Hot Pursuit.

Not to forget the random card pack system that is used in Mass Effect 3 multiplayer will probably be in the game again. They are also using the dreaded Skill Mods and some sort of Boosters from NFS World. If i want to gamble, i might as well go to a casino, than playing a game with random card packs.

somehow i still miss the days when street racing was the trend..and making your car look awesome is the fashion on car racing..i just miss that...seriously this game doesnt look any different from what hot pursuit offers...

I never like Criterion, to be honest. Their PC port are terrible while the games has no longevity.

I juz need the old NFS Underground, Most wanted, hot pursuit. not new and in-game cinematic control n etc.
i dun wan cop chase, i need heli keep dropping barrel on me on a tight 1 way road

seems like Shift 2 is still d game best to play for me.

well that to be expected...lol alot of ppl were expecting the older days NFS style..especially underground series...and EA has successfully butchered it to become something else...

If you are talking about classic NFS, that will be something like The The Need for Speed, original Hot Pursuit and High Stakes. Underground was never part of the older NFS and it is no longer feasible to make an Underground as putting neons and bumpers on cars are no longer the fashion these days. And it look stupid on cars these days.

Then, EA asked Criterion to make NFS games, instead keep making more Burnout games, while let the excellent SMS go to develop Project CARS on their own as an independent company. Black Box wont make any more retail NFS, but they will focus on the stupidly expensive MMO. Yea, i am still playing cause i have tonnes of Boost from January's cheap sale. If you dont have a tonne of Boost, just ignore NFS World because the whole game is a rip off. I still want my RM100 back for those Boost.

They need a new studio to take over the NFS series with something interesting and new, instead of rehashing Burnout with licensed skins or making terrible games like The Run. EA do have a few good racing game studio, which is the studio who made NFS Nitro and also Firemint who made Real Racing 2 on iOS. I just hope EA will give them the chance to build a proper NFS.

I desperately wants to see the new Most Wanted succeed, because i loved Black Box's Most Wanted but from the looks of it, it's like a burnout paradise reskin with licensed cars. It could be good at the end, but i really doubt so as Criterion seem to focus a lot on the multplayer side of things. The single player is probably gonna be terrible, similar to Hot Pursuit 2010.

Oh wait, since when EA dont butcher their games? Dead Space 3 becoming a Lost Planet clone. Mass Effect 3 becoming a Gears of War with a crappy Horde mode. Battlefield 3 becoming a CoD clone where everyone prefer to cramp in the subway throwing grenades. Dragon Age 2 becoming a rubbish game. Instead of making something original, at least what other major publishers tried to even though they milk the crap out of it, EA decided to just copy their competitor's product and call it a day. EA seems like they just dont want to make a compelling single player games anymore.

well ppl still love extensive car customization..and believe me it still does...perhaps not you..but majority of the blog reviewing most wanted had ppl commented on NFS underground...well maybe movie like fast and furious still exist to promote fast car and good looking ones...at least for me i still love NFS underground..regardless it being old school or the lots of it...well about NFS world i juz give up with all the lags and ppl bumping me to wall all of a sudden...

whats wrong with criterion?? NFS Hot Pursuit is intense! aside from no story-line (perhaps it retains the main formula of NFS, wasn't it??)

NFS hot pursuit was intense? it dieded in less than a month =="....

criterion are having way too much of their own way...different between most wanted and hot pursuit...?? none...

A lot of things are wrong with Criterion.

- They lie all the time. Was Hot Pursuit a good game? No. The game was terrible in so many ways and regardless of that, both Hot Pursuit and Most Wanted won numerous awards at trade shows for some strange reasons. Hot Pursuit was a shallow, uninteresting game.
- Hot Pursuit single player was meaningless. There is no purpose at all and there arent even a quick race mode to setup your own races.
- Multiplayer was equally bad. Lack of depth and car balancing is just terrible.
- PC support is non-existent with ATi card performance issue still persist today.
- Expensive cars DLCs like 9.99USD for a handful of cars, while PC do not get any DLCs at all.
- Cars handles like tanks on rails and i am not expecting realistic rFactor styled physics. Just something that is fun to drive, but the physics just get in the way of the fun.
- Exclusive cars like Cayman and a couple for 360. Why cant the PC and PS3 players get the same content that they have paid? We all paid 60USD for the rubbish game.

The Run is another piece of shit. To be honest, NFS franchise died after Shift 2 released. At least SMS knows how to make a decent racing game that is fun to drive, despite its all only closed track.

Criterion thinks they are good, but the truth is, they are just terrible at making decent games.

now I see it.. marketing demand too much?? I was stoked with the Hot Pursuit graphics, but wasn't the concept of no-storyline is the concept taken from the original Hot Pursuit game?? no modifications, just raceeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee and Shift 1 and 2 is all about raceeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee also

I played Shift 1 only, but so far the most realest car physics game ever played!
but still, Most Wanted is a must play for me!

Shift 1 and 2 were targetted at..real racing experience..while other is arcade...

about most wanted..i think they gonna recycle wat they got from hot pursuit and throw it in...mostly a revamped most wanted...and customization might based upon black box the run customization...which is god damn limited..i hate how they take away customization freedom from the game..

sry to say, imo, shift2 sux. i only play few hours then totally forgot about it.

the reason nfs hot pursuit 2010 sux so much is because of the on-rail handling...try playing nfshp2. the feel is totally different. the only nfs i didn't enjoy is undercover (finish coz nothing else to do), shift2...didn't play nitro, and ddin't give a single shyiet for the run. the nfs i most enjoy is the porsche unleashed. man..that was really good, and then comes nfsIIse. nfsworld is for killing time, no longer played since 3-4 months ago. i didn't really like previous most wanted, but its story is good, handling wasn't as bad as nfs nowadays...so i still play till end.



try gt5/forza/rfactor/lfs nfs realistic-ness is light years away



why don't ea just combine every little bit of goods from each nfs into one? like...handling from porsche unleashed, gfx from shift2, tuning from undeground 2, courses from each nfs series, customization (including autosculpt) as in underground2 and most wanted, g-force effect from shift2, the autolog from shift2....and so on.

mehhh...NFS used to be good in the older days...with all the crazy soundtracks in-game..and stuff like customization that fills everybody imagination..mehh..

yea im getting a PS3 soon..GT5 will be on the buy list...

NFS Most Wanted (Criterion): .................. will play, or not? It looks just like older game with not much of any new features... And that stupid crash-cam again, hope they don't forget to include that option for PC -.-

Yeah some old stuff like AutoSculpt is greatly missed. The lack of new innovation is kinda, feels bad. No I don't mean rocket launcher or laser gun... NFS don't need those. There are still quite a lot of things to improves such as crashing/destructive event (I hate crash cam, give me REAL impact on REAL time please). MUCH better audio, MUCH better visual, MUCH better visualization (example like on free-roam, I drive into a whatever shop, walk out of the car, I interact with the boss, tell him what I want... then they fit those parts in real time... In the mean time I stole their cash, or look on the computer searching for races, bounty, etc...) The game engine surely able to pull it off, all depend on who utilizing it =/

Isn't this is the era of "improve player's experience by keep them in the game, reduce UI dependency..." I don't want to go through tons of menus... I want to experience things in real time...

Most Wanted 2012 seems disappointing, it just a reskinned Burnout Paradise and the game will have:

- a blacklist
- no story
- blacklist filled with your friends (is just a leaderboard)
- huge variety of cars
- track-spec cars like Aerial Atom to SUV like Ford Raptor (having the Aerial Atom sounds dumb)

I think I'll wait for SMS next game, there aren't many racing games on PC. SHIFT 2 is amazing once you have mods with it.

well that explain everything or not...i was expecting that...almost no surprises...this game is as good as dead...it will be same stuff with hot pursuit only..it different on some tiny details..ah well..

Wont be buying this game then, its just another Burnout reskin with licensed car.

Criterion should not be responsible for the NFS series. EA should get a new studio that knows how to make a NFS game.

The crash cam is a huge turn off. And the lack of story and any sort of customisation made it even worse.

Cheer up bro, still hav CAR and RF2 n yes NFS series under Criterion is basically moving towards their Burnout Style.

fun for those whom like arcade and juz wan to race without doing any customization and aint fun for those whom love complicate things.

I am all for simple and fun arcade racing games, like Bang Bang Racing on Steam which is a damn good simple racing game. The problem is Criterion never make decent arcade racing game with their intrusive crash cam and heavy emphasis on multiplayer without worthwhile single player content. Their AI has always been abysmal and single player has barely any content. Physics wise, Criterion's cars are never really fun to drive because they feel incredibly on rails like a slot car, while their tracks are just terrible and boring to drive on.

Not every game has to move to multiplayer only it will be fun. Nor every gamer out there wants games to be multiplayer only.

EA uploaded an interview as well. The game seems to get worst on every video I see, using a Porsche to take a jump from a 4-5 story building to smash a billboard is ridiculous (scene starts at around 1:35). First we have super cars drifting in every corner, now we are getting super cars flying around crashing billboards.

its' actually not ridiculous if you play their Burnout Paradise which is 90% same on the game mechanism except the location and title name.

I played Burnout Paradise and it dont seem ridiculous back then because you are driving a fictional car and everything in the game is ridiculous but for a NFS it seem unacceptable.

haha there is PROJECT CARS, RFACTOR2, IRACING but u need steering 2 race wey not 4 casual gamers like me

I am playing project cars with a 360 pad. No problem so far.

Better than the arcade shit that criterion is making.

With all the Autolog crap, it feels like paying for a social site account, and in there, somewhere deep in there, there is a game.. a mediocre game..

Not much of exciting semi-arcade-ish-free-form-midnight-street-drifting-with-those-beloved-tuners these day huh... (k that's a quite messy long word). Everyone just bam bam bam, bam bam bam, cha-ka-cha-ka, bam, bam, bam... Overloaded FPS, MMO, DotA clone and RPG alike.

I really just, want to sit back after work, grab my gamepad, hit on the net with friends and get some races on with the most spectacular visual and audio, especially drift~~~ sigh.

Imagine if...

NFS World + 50% of Shift 2's physic + Frostbite engine + a few next gen tweaks + antiiiii-hackerrrrr + better net code + more racing modes + not operate by EA but someone else + ....

Yes, new version by a totally different developer team (Criterion instead of original Black Box).

That will be quite nice, NFS World is not total crap if you are racing with your friends and bought a ton of boost during their cheap offer. I still play it every once in a while, the driving physic is fun and simple.

I miss those time where I adjust those stickers/vinyls pixel by pixel to perfection... I can stay in the garage whole day! Then drive to *THE BRIDGE* and show off (ended up mostly pwned in drag...). That's what people wanted- tuning!

nothing much from the video actually, just a Corvette jumping on to a boat (I think), drifts on every turn, smash a traffic car, a Hummer H1 chaseed by cops, smash some gates, going up a building and jump down from a 2 story high building and a Agera R smash some cops, had some jumps and drift.

Guy's Currently I haven't get the chance of playing this game. So I don't have so much idea about it. But i have seen its demo on youtube. Which is really awesome. I think its the best game of need for speed series. Every one who like this series game will surely like it too. Guy's I will play this game soon and then i will give you reviews of mine about this game....

These statement seems to be wrong, most fans are angry due to the lack of car customization and I'm hating it because is just a reskinned Burnout Paradise with some cops. Seems more like the worst NFS in the entire series.

somehow my experience with hot pursuit...kinda makes me " not this shit again...i m not falling for that nice trailer trick"...

If you liked Hot Pursuit, with its physics, crash cam and little content, you might like Most Wanted.

I manage to get my hands on the Gamescon build, the game looks good on PS3. Gameplay is very much similar to Burnout, except you get cop chases that is similar to the original Most Wanted.

Criterion game engine produced rather small cars in my eyes. Frostbite is the biggest I have seen comparing to all NFS game. But what is best about Criterion game engine is that the graphics is very nice and its reflection (cars/roads/wet roads) is realtime rendering while Frostbite's reflection isn't.

Hmm no one interested in getting the game? it looks fun to play and plenty of stuff to do beside racing. The town also looks pretty well made.

To me the game is no where near shitty condition. Its pretty much a Burnout Paradise with licensed cars.. i enjoyed playing BP last time with friends and this game supposedly better if not the same. Hopefully this game can keep me busy while waiting for Grid 2

nope max capped is 60 fps

So I tried it on my friend's rig and....

1, utterly... sigh... controls. No way I can drive accurately with that.
2, this extreme arcadish physic... So I driving 200kmh, pull e-brake, powerslide, and stop in 5 meters. Awesome physics -.- I'm not asking for realism but this is way too much unrealistic.
3, just now try out cop chase, so I got struck by those nails. And start to think: "where the heck are those pursuit breakers??"...

It runs pretty damn good on a mid range GTX560 though, fullHD max setting with just minimal lag.

the controls are better than what I expected

there is an annoying bug, sometime all ur hud, such as minimap, menu all disappear, and u cannot press esc also

makes u cannot meet up because u don't know where to go when everyone is waiting

i5 2400+8GB ram+GTX 670

Some place not too smooth for high settings 1600x900.

i have to set medium setting for 50-60 fps
medium settings still look beautiful in game thou.

max fps it can go is 60fps only

some of the car so hard to control, make me kiss wall only

As far as I remember I don't see AA option last night in that very short try out.
Got time I go play in my friend's house again. Sure, last night's try out maybe too short to justify the game... So, give it a very slim chance, have time I try again.
But what I will expect are:

- again, where is the pursuit breaker? Bus stops? Phone booths?
- hot girls and handsome gangsters?

sadly i can't maxout with my gtx 670
i have to set to medium to get decent fps 50-60.

i cant see AA/AAF option too.

This is essentially Burnout Paradise with licensed cars.

I bet they got scolded by MaggieQ after mediocre game quality in NFS Undercover *cough* *cough*... The only game with real life performance after that was only Shift2 if I'm not mistaken by Monster team drivers.

Look better than my expectation. I for one don't care all about those customization and Fast & Furious wannabe stuff. Just make it fun, fast and silly with charming location just like the first 4 originals.

i like high speed drift, stylish race is fun, this game is about fun, win and lose don't really matter

However, i see the price is bit steep compared to the old NFS games. It used to be RM120 or RM130. Now, it's RM160. Must be EA new price scheme. Everything is jacked up.

did not place my preorder this year because of the run, loose faith in NFS franchise...
but this morning it just came to me "why not give it another chance, since it was made by criterion, and BP and HP was not that bad at all"

I still remember back in the day I preorder NFS ProStreet for only RM79 from TBS
Sigh looking at standard games nowadays cost almost 3 times higher...

+ enjoy it greatly on my sister's super ancient AMD Phenom & ATI 9550...
