Great...if the DRM system of "ALWAYS ONLINE" they impose for the PC version comes to the console version as well...it will jam up thier servers more and thus we will definately see the infamous Error 37/30006/30007 on the PS3 as well!!

If you are truly a PS3 gamer, you will know that you ARE ALWAYS ONLINE when gaming in ps3.
Almost all current games already implement that using Playstation Network.
One more game to implement that mean shit nothing.

Especially when in PS3, most publishers use Sony servers.

Dude...u do know that currently, in order to play D3 even for the SINGLEPLAYER mode, u must always connect to their servers via battlenet?

Battlenet and PSN are 2 different networks all together, as of todate, we are still not clear as to how Blizzard is going to collaborate with Sony to integrate thier servers with PSN yet, but anything is possible yes?

And BTW, playing games on the PS3 doesn't require us to be always online, heck, we all can play our PS3 games offline anyhow, it is the multiplayer function that require us to be online via the PSN

because due to certain features in most games, everyone just log in whenever they start-up their PS3.
This is common knowledge for people who play original PS3 games.
so no issue with DRM and online always part for PS3 gamers who play original games.

I'm not sure what are you smoking there but I'm not grasping the idea of how did you come up with that conclusion of accusing someone that he's not playing original games simply because he wants to play a game offline(or not being signed in to PSN) on the PS3.

Bro seth, I think you misinterpret what 3ternal was trying to say.
For D3 not only you must have an active internet connection, but you must also be connected with blizzard battlenet server to actually start playing the game at all times.
This is also a must even for a single player gameplay. Heck you can even get lag in an SP game in Diablo 3 if your internet is messed up from what i read in there thread.

Now what 3ternal was trying to say that even if your internet is down, you can still play your PS3 games, but in certain PC games which imposes must be online to play, means if your internet is down you cant play the game at all even if it's only a single player game, in fact certain games if you lose your internet connection it will kick you out of the game.

dunno i think this game not that good anyway.... finish the D3 in pc and up till nightmare act 2.

D3 is the only game even single player must go online;its not bout never play original ;usually single player games dont need to online; to d3 becoz of security prevent piracy.

Why do you assume that playing PS3 games offline = not playing original games?

While i do acknowledge that some PS3 games of a certain Genre, like an mmorpg which is for example, FF14 will require full internet connection to play the game..simple because it's a MMO...perhaps other games as well like the FPS genre or some Action games will require constant internet connection but i can't say which for certain because i have not come across those games myself yet.. But i do know that myself being mostly a RPG gamer will definately not require constant connection to the PSN Network

Perhaps my earlier argument was not very clear to you...my first statement earlier was being a sarcastic remark on the game's problem with the PC version whereby upon the game's launch they were having problems with thier servers to support the many gamers who tried to log-in and play the game the very least..

i am not a big fan of diablo but what you just said is completely wrong.

currently there is only 1 PS3 game that i know of that needs an active internet connection to play & that is Capcom's Final Fight.

With the exception of MMORPGs like DC Universe, all other games released so far can be played offline.

i think dragon dogma uses internet connection constantly

dragon dogma can be played offline. you only need to go online if you want to share your pawn or hire other people's pawn.

@sethmaster- yup you might be wrong with the 'online' part.. not everyone will connect online mode while playing. i had, not a lot but most of the game playable without going online. sometimes its not fair to simply accuse fellow LYners here not playing original. just my thought.

D3 is fully online. Has something to do with the way Real money auction house works.

I agree. It hampers down the gaming experience and worst of all, those that without Internet connectivity will not be able to play it even though they have a PS3 system in their home. It's really dim witted in a way, honestly. Gaming is very much like education, it should be made accessible to all in a very convenient way.

make it cross-play with PC then ill buy the PS3 version(for the 2nd time), just like how PS3 Portal 2 can co-op with PC.

PS3 single player games do not require always-online connection, but recommended to have. games like Mass Effect 3 recommends to have connected internet to have the Military power, and Fifa. but do not require always-online to play. but for multiplayer, duhhhh~

but the Blizzard is not stating a port to Xbox360, meaning this could be a PS3 exclusive.

Let's just say if someone doesn't have any Internet connectivity. So what does it leave them at? Please don't tell me that after I've spent about RM180+- for a game and soon after that I find myself couldn't play it because I do not have Internet access? That's pretty much left me dumbfounded.

Don't get me wrong, personally I would love to have the Single player mode for offline and Multiplayer mode via online. Best of both worlds. How much low is low? Lowering price is not the point here and it will never be the point of combating piracy. Please don't get me wrong but I think it's pretty much absurd to have single player mode that can be played when it is connected to the WWW.

Internet required or not, it's just my two pennies worth of thought. I'm anticipating the PS3 version of this game-Diablo3.

Don't forget, everything will be server based.

Even if they actually do port it to the PS3, they'll need to migrate or actually make a duplicate for just the PSN.
Not sure how they'll do that but even if they do, it'll take at least another year for them to do it judging from how Blizzard does their things.

I don't think so...just because D3 was in PC doesn't mean that it would be faster to port in a console which belongs Microsoft...

Technically, the XBL and PSN are seperate networks/servers of thier own and thus Blizzard will have to colaborate with either networks to integrate thier servers thorugh this networks...and perhaps the reason that D3 will be coming to the PS3 1st could be because Blizzard have made made a contract agreement with Sony 1st? It's merely my speculation though

It will benefit Sony by having an active internet connection to PSN for anyone who wants to play it.

Capcom already did this with Final Fight & there's nothing to stop Blizzard from doing the same to the PS3 version of D3 if they decide to make a port.

btw, I agree with you that taking 11 years to make a game that looks no different from D2 is really stupid. I am wondering why so many people still support this stupid developer after waiting 11 years.

Maybe, just maybe someone will play it when it gets here. But all PC lovers would have Been done with it and moved on to better games. If they wanted to do it, they should have done it together with the PC. And trust me, you don't want to know how stupid the servers were in the first month of the game launch. It got to the point where I wanted to hunt blizzard down and rain arrows on them.

The online all the time probably has gotta do with the respawn of maps, creatures and loot plush the auction house. Although Ita a bigger game, I had more fun with the first two in the series.

The worse diablo ever made..... I would advise you ppl just give this game a pass. If really want to know how it feel go play the trial version on pc you get the feel the Act 1 if i am not wrong.


And this game still got ppl playing..... but most of them farmer who try to farm weapon and sell on the Auction house only. I regret purchasing it on my PC also nvr thought they would ruined the franchise to this level. All ppl buying weapon in Auction house only no need play game one. Is like MMO that i paid almost RM200 to play.

Really that bad huh, i 'kinda' interested in this game, wanted it to be such a better game, i played and finish the previous 2 installment of diablo. Never got the chance to play D3 on pc,

really miss the top down view rpg like this. On ps2 i really adore Champion return to arms/Norrath/baldurs gate dark alliance 1 & 2/fallout brotherhood of steel kinda top down view rpg,

most of the 'genre' now on pc, but it would be nice to get on console.

Diablo III has offline play on PlayStation

The PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 versions of Diablo III will have offline play among a number of other new features, Blizzard has said in a post-PlayStation Meeting interview with GameTrailers.

“You can have four people on the same screen—no split-screen, we just zoom the camera out. Or if you’re offline,” said Blizzard production director John Hight.

The PC version of Diablo III requires players to be online when they play.

Also new to the PlayStation versions are direct control—you no longer move around by clicking the mouse—and an evade capability to quickly dodge demon attacks.

The PlayStation interface has also been reworked. The inventory screen’s paper doll character representations have been replaced by full 3D models, for example.

According to Hight, Blizzard is “much further along” on the PlayStation 3 version than the PlayStation 4 version.

“We finally got to see the [PlayStation 4] controller yesterday, so we already have a lot of thoughts about how we’re going to use the touch bar,” said Hight. “And we want to take full advantage of the social aspects, so that it feels natural for console gamers. They can go into PlayStation Network, they can go through their friends list—we’re going to have full matchmaking through that.”

Currently, all of the content in the PlayStation version of Diablo III is up to version 1.07, so PvP brawling will be there

“We’re going to do updates on the console side just as we’ve been doing along on the PC side,” said Hight.

The PlayStation 3 version of Diablo III will be playable at PAX East next month.

I think poor fellow straight play pc version ok since it can be play by those intel Intergreted graphic cards means almost all pc can play it.

BEsides that pc version the first act is free to play.
