I'd advise you to consult a specialist in back pain. I know a doctor based in a hospital who runs a private clinic in Desa Sri Hartamas from 6-9pm. Give him a call and schedule an appointment to see him --> Dr. Hon Sook Pang @ 017-792-5998.
I've heard many success stories from his former patients. He specializes in treating back pain without resorting to surgery.

Anyone experience this before and any recommendation/advice to make things better even after surgery? Hi! Yes. This happened to my best friend. She had slipped disc when her posture is not correct for hours. At one time, she can't wake up from bed as the pain!! Thank God that she found a very famous and effective physical therapist into Chiropractic in PJ! When I have my knee and shoulder pain, I also go and visit this therapist and just 1 session, i found my pain is relief!! Let me know if you want the contact.

I have slipped disc for 12 years now.... was bedridden 3 times since then... last acute attack was 5 years ago. When I get the acute pain, it last about 1 week... bedridden for 2 days, after that I will be back to normal. According to my surgeon, this attack comes once every 3 years or so... on average, I will need to go for surgery within 15 years of the first attack.
I find sports help alot in keeping my back pain free... irony is, I got my slipped disc from sports!!!

I've got 2 at L4/L5 and L5/S1. Happened around the beginning of 2010 from very poor form while weightlifting and a serious fall while playing football. I had treatment done at Global Doctors in the form of spinal decompression traction therapy, interferential current therapy and ultrasound therapy, and then later on physiotherapy was added on top of that. Took about a year to be pretty much pain free and I'm back to lifting heavy again with no pain, and with much better form.

the DTS must be administered by a trained personnel.
coz it only focuses on specific areas which need attention and not the whole spine.

QUOTE(gkumar @ Aug 29 2014, 02:25 PM) hi i can recommend you a miracle lady healer in sentul. she has healed many patients from stroke to frozen shoulders to slipped disc and disc herniations. she only see ladies but if men are accompanied by their wives she is okay. she does not advertise herself as a healer but a beautician. she runs a beautician but it was by chance i learnt that she is amazing with a god given gift of healing people. she uses a stick massage therapy with a little pain involved. but after the therapy i can promise you some difference. REGULAR FOLLOW UPS WITH HER WOULD CURE YOU OF THE SYMPTOMS. I PERSONALLY HAD A MAJOR DISC HERNIATION ON L5 S1. AFTER 7 TREATMENTS I WAS HEALED. YOU CAN ALSO CALL HER DIRECTLY ON 0105021276. HER NAME IS MISS SHINI. YOU CAN ALSO CALL ME ON 0193555395. GOD BLESS YOU ALL!! Thank you for your recommendation. So far I am ok now

Yea i have slip disc L4/L5. Didn't go for pls as doc says no need if pain is ok or no pain. Now focus on always having right posture, and form esp when exercise. Keep active everyday. Also, visit this chi doc once every month to slowly correct the problem of spine. That's 6 months ago. But I think I injured my back waaaaay back when I was going all hulk with squats at the gym. Lifted too heavy, and thought it's just minor muscle strain. Since then, even if I push it a but, I will get this lower back strain. Eventually, few months back, the pain became unbearable, and my friend suggested I get X-ray to properly diagnose it. Yes it's a slip disc! So guys, don't think it's nothing when you experience pain. Go for checkup and correct it immediately. And please, please... Be careful the quote NO PAIN, NO GAIN. it's not even funny.

i am getting this, but still have not undergo xray or MRI etc. Its not really pain, but i feel my left shoulder back until my left hand feels numb (or somewhat like feel abit no energy). The feel gets stronger till neck if i walk for some distance or head looking straight for some time. Now currently doing physio theraphy. Is already 1 week + , seems relief some pain, but the overall numb/dull is still there.

my friend used to have L4/L5 slip disc confirm by MRI scan, bedridden for a week and cannot do much for a month. she went for a physio center for muscle strengthening especially the back. then a year later she join gym and started under a trainer/specialist to train her back some more. now she can do weights and lift heavy stuff without much affect on her back. like do back extension with a 10kg plate considering she is around 50kgs.
my advise is, if you have slip disc before, try to slowly do exercises that strengthen the muscles holding the spine when you try to do a certain movement or carry something with weight no matter how light/heavy and if your muscle if fatigue, your body have a tendency to compensate using your back to support. this is where the risk comes from.
exercises should be slow and non-jerking and many reps to train muscle endurance.
most people don't realize how weak is their muscle protecting their spine, i am not sure i got this correct, so slip disc is becoming more common and especially in women. i heard of cases where a girl was getting down from the driver seat and turn her body too fast because she was in a hurry, the twisting motion cause her L-section to have slip disc.
so do take care...

Got it thru gym.... Too much weight and bad form. Yes most of us has very weak back and weak buttocks. Due to all day sitting in front of pc. Observe others around you, back is usually straight (should have a good curve) with not much or not ass.
