Yea i have slip disc L4/L5. Didn't go for pls as doc says no need if pain is ok or no pain. Now focus on always having right posture, and form esp when exercise. Keep active everyday. Also, visit this chi doc once every month to slowly correct the problem of spine. That's 6 months ago. But I think I injured my back waaaaay back when I was going all hulk with squats at the gym. Lifted too heavy, and thought it's just minor muscle strain. Since then, even if I push it a but, I will get this lower back strain. Eventually, few months back, the pain became unbearable, and my friend suggested I get X-ray to properly diagnose it. Yes it's a slip disc! So guys, don't think it's nothing when you experience pain. Go for checkup and correct it immediately. And please, please... Be careful the quote NO PAIN, NO GAIN. it's not even funny.

Got it thru gym.... Too much weight and bad form. Yes most of us has very weak back and weak buttocks. Due to all day sitting in front of pc. Observe others around you, back is usually straight (should have a good curve) with not much or not ass.
