Getting Started

|
i am getting this, but still have not undergo xray or MRI etc. Its not really pain, but i feel my left shoulder back until my left hand feels numb (or somewhat like feel abit no energy). The feel gets stronger till neck if i walk for some distance or head looking straight for some time. Now currently doing physio theraphy. Is already 1 week + , seems relief some pain, but the overall numb/dull is still there.

my friend used to have L4/L5 slip disc confirm by MRI scan, bedridden for a week and cannot do much for a month. she went for a physio center for muscle strengthening especially the back. then a year later she join gym and started under a trainer/specialist to train her back some more. now she can do weights and lift heavy stuff without much affect on her back. like do back extension with a 10kg plate considering she is around 50kgs.
my advise is, if you have slip disc before, try to slowly do exercises that strengthen the muscles holding the spine when you try to do a certain movement or carry something with weight no matter how light/heavy and if your muscle if fatigue, your body have a tendency to compensate using your back to support. this is where the risk comes from.
exercises should be slow and non-jerking and many reps to train muscle endurance.
most people don't realize how weak is their muscle protecting their spine, i am not sure i got this correct, so slip disc is becoming more common and especially in women. i heard of cases where a girl was getting down from the driver seat and turn her body too fast because she was in a hurry, the twisting motion cause her L-section to have slip disc.
so do take care...

Got it thru gym.... Too much weight and bad form. Yes most of us has very weak back and weak buttocks. Due to all day sitting in front of pc. Observe others around you, back is usually straight (should have a good curve) with not much or not ass.

Bad posture especially sitting on the floor.. It will accentuate if you are on the bigger side (like me)
