I think, with the internet, we could create like an e-group, and coordinate TT sessions (teh tarik sessions) where we could play casually and trade.

I dont think its worth the money to go for formal tournaments. Even my type2 legal decks are now outdated. Bah...

Crazy idea came to my mind. Why not focus on the Preconstructed decks?

Sounds silly, but if you think about it, the decks are quite well balanced - Making winning more meaningful as skill will be very important.

To add some flavour, players can be allowed to say, substitute no more than 10 cards into the preconstructed deck.

I just got a TimeSpiral precon: Hope's crusaders. Nice game mechanics. Suspend, split second and flanking (yeah, its back!).

Many years ago I quit for that exact reason - it was too expensive to keep your deck up to date, standard wise. Back in those days, there were many players too, and we used to hang out in Game Castle (I think) every weekends, near the Atria shopping complex in Damansara.

Now that I've got a job, I guess I can afford buying the cards, buy boosters by the box, etc. and the ironic thing is, hardly anyone plays the game these days. It's seems to me Warhammer and Warmachine (think that's the name), and even Pokemon are the current popular card trading games now.

I hope this Wednesday, the FNM will still be on at Wolf's, Amcorp. Though sadly, according to the DCI website, that store has been listed as delinquent for not reporting back to Wizards the match results. In other words that store may be banned in the future from organizing any DCI santioned tourneys and events. Aisay, typical Malaysian habits sad.gif

Standard (T2) is still as expensive as it's always been.

Personally, I think it's more to lack of store support than lack of players/returning players. There have been times where I was sitting in fast food outlets sorting my cards and people came and talk about their old magic decks.

The hobby shops around my area focus on Gundam card game. I don't think near Ampang area there's any FNMs at all. Certainly hope I am wrong on this.

Just like to inform those around KL/PJ area that our store will be hosting weekly booster drafts on Friday night @ 8pm onwards.

Pricing for the booster draft is RM25 for 3 packs of Time Spiral. (We are indirectly advocating booster draft as it is the quickest way to refamiliarize with M:TG as well as the best way to build up skills thus the pricing for our draft is very competitive)

Those who are interested can kindly give us a ring or drop me a pm in order to book a spot in the drafts.

We are also promoting sales of boosters packs with a buy 10 free 1 @ RM10 / pack.

For more information kindly refer to my previous thread located >> HERE <<

Thanks smile.gif

fixed.

I think the mtg community in malaysia is fine for now. just no one on LYN to report on a tournament they played in or watched.

u r absolutely correct, there are still a lot of players, but not free to report them here, as for myself, was playing in the GPT Singapore mentioned above and went top 8 with AggroRock. Extended is not tat popular tho, while limited tournament will have a lot of player participating. The last PTQ Geneve have over 70 players which make it 7 round swiss.
