seal deck tourney it self are full of suprise, either u urself or ur opponent. both are 50/50. And suddenly, there got a swap deck happen. Lol, ur dual land gone. tongue.gif

constructed deck what I can say is mainly depends on the individual, some people really build his own deck.

eg, I as a MTG player. From some website I get to know how to form a pwnful deck, so I pump in $$$ to build this deck and it works very well in FNM. But it doesn't mean I am a skillful player. And what if suddenly I been to those seal deck tourney with no cards that I want ? Very obvious Im oledi half-doomed.

So I think both are same equal.

dunno how to say, i weight both quite equal.

sealed deck can improve ur skill, as well as card pool, and card pool is as important for constructed as well. For me, as long as there is tournament, i don care if it is sealed or constructed, i will take it seriously biggrin.gif

the bad thing about sealed deck is sometimes bad card pool really makes deck building a hard time for you. Constructed, every1 will have the same range of card pool to build deck from, but the matter is $$$ la, whoever can afford more, he hav a broader card choice la.

btw i just back from PG, the tourney i didn't do so welll, cannot make top 8.
some question for u guys, when building a sealed deck, wat will choose
a) total power (best possible deck)
b) consistency with less power

by power i means u build using the best card and color combination u can get, without worrying color or mana crew

while consistency means u choose color tat hav more mana fixers and accelerator, but with sacrifice to total deck power
*
total power...
great color combination is the best for any deck after all...

imo for sealed deck go for consistency . if can put out a creature every turn in sealed deck means ur deck is good enough to win the game fast . good balance of creature per mana ratio , where u can cast anything on whatever mana u hv . and pray u get some removal cards for them big big creature that u encounter. all my opinion here is based on my knowledge of magic from last last time i play .. maybe cannot use now lol .

maybe go for a little bit of both worlds , usually my sealed consist of creatures than can be cast fast and 1 - 2 killer card, means if killer card come out u lose already.

Not exactly.

T1 means Vintage (All sets, Power9 and others restricted)
T1.5 means Legacy (All sets, Power9 and others banned)
Extended = last 6 blocks + corresponding core sets
Type2 = Standard = last 2 blocks + corresponding core set (as probably everybody knows)

standard is extremely limited, with their small card pool available. bcoz of this, there is bound to be a certain type/s of decks that will completely dominate the Standard environment. for example, just not so long ago, Ravager Affinity decks completely dominated the Standard environment, together with Tooth and Nail. Closer to today (before Guildpact), Ghazi-Glare and MUC (mono blue control) and BDW and a few other types dominates the environment. play anything outside that scope, and u probably lose. if u play beatdown, go for jitte. (if u dun, u r losing out). If u play black, u need kokusho and pyrexian arena. (if not, u oso losing out). and it goes on. all expensive cards heheh cry.gif cry.gif

with the release of a newer set (guildpact), the card pool goes larger, and the decks get more variety, though still limited. huh.gif

however, in extended, the large card pool gives u a chance to go rogue. Of course, there r those staple deck types like psychatog, ravager, goblins, boros deck wins. u may think its almost the same as standard, but its not really. recently, some dude modified the psychatog deck, adding ichorid inside (formerly known as a CHEAP rare). this only shows tat u can really go far wit some 1337 deck building skillz laugh.gif laugh.gif

of course this does not mean standard sucks, but i prefer extended more coz u can really go rogue in tournaments without ppl preparing their sideboard to anti u. like not so long ago in an extended tournament, i tried out an old black red deck with some dredge cards. though i didnt make it to the top 8 (10th place out of i-dunno-how-much), it was the satisfaction of fighting ppl wen they go "wat deck is this?" and see them ponder hard on wat to sideboard after 1st match. kekekekke... biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif
