Different focal lengths and aperture. 25mm f1.4 is a faster lens but not as wide as the 20mm. People usually would go for the 25mm f1.4 if budget permits.

The pana 20mm f1.7 autofocus is also quite slow in low light.

May I ask, if you use extension tube on MFT cameras, it has to provide electrical contacts right? How else would you focus and change aperture if I were to buy the cheaper one without electrical contacts?

Just noticed for GX1. You got better focus if the focus area is normal. The small focus will cause some miss focus some times.
