16MP in GX1,you can still crop with 20mm 1.7. Anyway the 45mm darn sharp.
*
before i was using 45mm F1.8 and the original macro converter, but no anti shake difficult to use,
also the infinity not enough for capture insect, so sell it and bought 45mm F2.8 macro.

45mm F2.8 really sharp, this one is 100% crop

Actually what is the different between Raw and Jpeg?? hmm.gif

I'm wondering the output is it the same because just read a review about the ISO performance comparison between JPEG and Raw using Olympus OM-D but surprisingly the JPEG ISO performance is better than Raw...
*
my english not good, try to explain~
compare with jpeg, raw file more details, and it dun have any lossless when u modify/adjust the ev,white balance and color.

if using olympus , their jpeg color is good, but panasonic jpeg's color was a weakness.
people say panasonic will have better color when using raw.

what are they doing?

How u edit their skin ar? Mind to give some lesson? What software u use? hehe
*
i use lightroom.
First, use the spot remove tool(cannot capture mouse cursor)to remove acne or blemishes。
user posted image

Then use adjustment brush,
effect: soften skin
u can add 0.3 ev for more whitening skin,
and clarity i will put 30% to 60%, higher clarity skin will smoother.

then just brush the whole faceafter finish click done button.

Clarity should be - (minus) ??? to get the smooth skin. Are you using the on board flash in the GX1 or the dedicated flash.
*
yes, clarity should be minus.
for the race queen, it was outdoor so didn't use flash.

for the local gt show girl, it was a half indoor, i use nissin di466(ttl), can get sharp image.
my experience before, 45mm F2.8 without flash when indoor shoting, the image very blur like dc cry.gif

this one my external flash out of battery, so use higher iso,
the image not sharp as using flash, and the white balance also crazy liao.

HI~ i use Nissin Di466 (M4/3 version) for my GX-1.
small size ,cheap~ RM 3xx, have ttl, but cannot swivels head and no FP.
no FP mean when in A mode, the shutter speed will lock at 1/60.

my works with this flash, can use very small aperture with low iso:

Yes, the AF is slow compared to kit lens n 14mm f2.5, I tried all 14mm, kit lens n 20mm, n I loveeeeee the 20mm with OMD though focus is slow BUT I only hv that problem in really dim light condition, otherwise once it locked d correct focus, the image turns out amazingly sharp n nice  rclxms.gif

LOL! bro hardly loh, the omd kit lens only 700~ the pana 45f2.8 is 2500 lol... but trust me, the kit lens got a good performance in macro too. with a flash.. wooo makes wonder baby

btw i ve just bought 7-14mm that day, used for a awhile and definitely recommend this lens, UWA best ~~ if u ask me 9-18 or 7-14, i rather use 7-14 (: that 2 mm is alot.. lol
*
maybe the angle problem the flash looks big size.
this is was very small compare with other~

i use bounce flash , macro shot too close cannot direct flash.

wah sifu tcm, then i also post up a bit when at home can ah? need ur guide, I dont know how to use flash properly at all, so usually just depends on natural light and compensate with settings.
*
wah, pls dun call me sifu ler~
i still new la, i start taking Photograph less than one year...

less start our first lesson~

when in macro mode, the iimage stabilizer/anti hand shake will lose efficacy(because the object too small and the range too close).
so u need to always maintain the Safety shutter speed.
for 12-50mm, the focal will lock at 43mm in macro mode ,right?
that's mean ur minimum shutter speed shoul be 1/100.
if u got flash then can ignore this.

second, remember always focus on the eyes.
this one i fail to focus her eyes because its too small ar~~~~
