ah thanks for the correction. getting lost with all the hps.. haha..

i also slowdown the output flow about 25-30% also. to be honest, I haven't really left it to run until 24c before. maybe it will take longer to get down there and it will keep the compressor running for longer time.

My chiller also got variance about 1c. my china digital tank thermometer shows 26c but the chiller show 27c.

will test it out this weekend and see how it goes. just hope my electric bill won't scare me.. haha

melody : the UV kills bacterias on the outflow if i'm not mistaken. so the beneficial bacteria is still ok inside the canister. and to think about it, bacteria lives on the bio rings inside the canister.. doesn't concern the bacterias in the water right?

hmm.gif have to think twice b4 rescaping. By the way, I still trying hard to find blue sand or something that can represent sea water in my scape. anyone can give some idea?
*
blue sand u can enquire at the LFS. they do stock them mainly for those guppy tanks. sand scaping really a headache if u have pleco... their poo is really big in qty... haha

zeneticX, u might be lucky : maybe ur ottos are cleaning up algaes inside the aquarium somewhere. that's why its not interested in the wafers; its got more fresh algae to eat smile.gif

if u see the ottos getting thinner, then u know the aquarium is not neough algae for them lo...

may i suggest that u drop the wafer once a 2-3 days. that should keep those otto happy.

visited 2 Japanese aquariums in one afternoon... hehe

Aqua Forest in Shinjuku and Aquahouse in Nishi-Ikkebukuro.

In my opinion, Aqua Forest is definitely worth the visit. Please pardon me but because locally in BP not much planted shops to go visit, so these 2 shops are awesome in my opinion. but i'm sure others in bigger cities like KL or JB would have more choices than my little town smile.gif

pics uploading shortly.

Added on July 29, 2012, 5:28 pmthese pics are on hp camera, so sorry guys. anyway, the water is superb clear. is it because of the carbon they're using? mine no carbon, maybe that's why its not as clear as their's... hm...

i bought nothing anyway.. haha

today sunday is off day... hehe

yes those tanks were awesome! the thing is that kept it super clear. so its very pleasing to see it.

for clear water, do we need carbon other than regular changes?
