i heard that copy and paste will help too

instead of typing ur password when entering, type it elsewhere, save in notepad or whatever file, then copy it and paste when logging in

i practice that when my WoW account was hacked last time, guess it's time for me to do it again. hmm

copy paste doesnt work.

Keyloggers tap into your system key typing function. Copy pasting doesn't work.
The best practise is to use authenticator to add 2 factor security.

If you feel like challenging yourself, install diablo on ubuntu, block all outgoing ports except 80 and 443, encrypt your pc and dns traffic, and play diablo tongue.gif

other than what you mentioned above, there are more ways to make your account safe

1. hide your CD keys off other people, including your fwens and families. your so called 'fwen' and even your brothers/ sisters can turn into monsters when comes to profit.

2. 'move' your bnet account to another mailing service after you have recovered your stuff. some might argue this is not necessarily but do understand the hidden threat: your mailing account hooked to your current bnet account might also be compromised, and some of them would have certain backup-plans for you to recover your password, in which haxxor can take advantage of.

3. protect your pc, by any means necessary. other than installing AV and do regular scans and hope it will protect it, try to restrict/ block others from accessing your pc, or installing stuff into it. if there's malware/ virus/ trojan detect in it, disable any form of network and internet access and limit resources to be inward only and stop any type of login related action using that pc other than window login.

product key u used on ur battle.net is a very strong evidence you owned the product, you are the owner

if ur fren has ur cd key, he can request to recover the account just like he's the owner, but first he must know ur login email and abit info of urs

Was playing half way, wanna down diablo in nightmare mode with party, suddenly got a message popped out, saying i was logged in from another computer. I sense smtg is fishy already, cause I don't share my account...

Straight went to battle.net, and too late, receive email that my password was changed. Recover my password, login again, found out all items gone, gold, gems, crafting materials all gone...

Was wondering how they actually find out my password, I don't simply download stuff, nor share my account.. So far only using VPN service, which is very reputable, ping2pwn... not sure what went wrong, but the VPN is the factor that i can think of...

sigh... reported to blizz, hopefully they can recover back my items n gold sad.gif

VPN = the owner have full access of every data passed thru, yes including account and password.

why risk your account? or why so some much hassles?

just use the mobile authenticator...
no way that a keylogger can get through that.

first install ubuntu on a vm image say ubuntu.
then install diablo 3 on ubuntu (linux os)
set up firewall that blocks all ports except for your d3 port(80) and ssl port (443).
If you want to one up that, set iptable to block all outgoing connection to IP other than battlenet using port 80 or 443,
use dns encryption to encrypt your traffic. tongue.gif

probably the most secure way to play diablo or wow.

they can if they either have your mobile authenticator info/config from either the server or the app.
the authenticator is just some numbers from your end which have to match the server side numbers, at a given time frame.

if someone got a dump of all the authenticator configs and details from server.
very possible to be gg

Asking a newbie to get D3 to run on a linux distro without explaining the complications of wine........

Although, if a newbie really does try it, it would be interesting to see the tears of frustration and rage.

this is far less likely to happen... if the mobile authendicator system is compromised, Blizzard will surely do a roll back the compromised accounts and reset your MA's token & seed.

Also, I am talking about keylogger... how could keylogger do all that...

my opinion is, don't go to those diablo 3 fans website which u are not sure about other than blizzard diablo 3, these website mostly post a lots of interesting topic like how to get legendary eq, cheats, lvling tips etc, when u log in to these website, its a trap that they are trying to install keylogger or hack into your system to retrieve all your personal info. Mine wow account once hacked when i m scrolling some webs regarding boss killing strategic. Learn my lesson. Quit wow after my account restore.
