i dont think adding people will get you hacked
reason why people see strangers on their list after getting hacked is because those hackers needed a channel to get you and their char in the same room so they had to add you by using a faux to transfer you into their game |

Anyway whatever possessed Blizzard to allow trading of in-game items for money? that just gives motivation for every two-bit hacker and scam artist to try their luck
Anyone remember Second Life and how many scams happened there? |

QUOTE(shinkawa @ May 21 2012, 04:19 PM) Ouch.. As well including me who also put up my battle tag to the list..By the way, any TS who will created the Diablo III v9 later.. should put big wording to warn the consequences of adding unknown person. Even the person you've added based on Lowyat's Diablo III sub-forum listing.. some of them we really do not know personally, right? |

QUOTE(melvintcs @ May 21 2012, 09:02 PM) It has happen to other company before in the past where hackers are able to gain password from the company's database. Asiasoft was a victim, their MMO Maplestory had a leak some years ago. Sony is a popular example of hackers gaining access to user info and credit card info too.Given the large number of users in D3, its no surprise that some of the best hackers who do these stuff targets Blizzard. Those gold sellers suddenly have so much gold to sell at cheap prices. Its no coincidence. |

QUOTE(raptar_eric @ May 20 2012, 08:11 PM) Was playing half way, wanna down diablo in nightmare mode with party, suddenly got a message popped out, saying i was logged in from another computer. I sense smtg is fishy already, cause I don't share my account... LOL..... Straight went to battle.net, and too late, receive email that my password was changed. Recover my password, login again, found out all items gone, gold, gems, crafting materials all gone... Was wondering how they actually find out my password, I don't simply download stuff, nor share my account.. So far only using VPN service, which is very reputable, ping2pwn... not sure what went wrong, but the VPN is the factor that i can think of... sigh... reported to blizz, hopefully they can recover back my items n gold |

You never been in WoW , trade is filled with them at timesGiven the large number of users in D3, its no surprise that some of the best hackers who do these stuff targets Blizzard. Those gold sellers suddenly have so much gold to sell at cheap prices. Its no coincidence. Anyway , adding people will not cause you to be hacked The way how they do is probably they send you a PM (not sure if anyone can send you a PM like in WoW) , claiming that they are game master and you need to click on co.cc or .tk link to prevent your account from being closed as you have hacked or something. |

Wondering those who got hacked joined those public games? I never joined any public games and add any random people... i saw in those people that got hacked are those who got randomly added into their friend and into their games. Maby their is a flaw in the system that allowed those who join their game to access info LOL.....just assuming ....
