FAD's flagship universal is even more expensive than any custom IEM out there.

It's Rm2000. The one that looks like a bullet.

The question of more expensive is irrelevant when it comes to FAD because of the materials that they use and their niche exclusivity. You're paying a lot for the materials and I am sure their products are marked up a lot. they could achieve the same sound I am sure without the need to use such exotic materials.

It's akin to buying a limited edition and hence more exclusive Louis Vuitton bag or a limited edition Patron Of The Arts Mont Blanc pen compared to a normal Mont Blanc Pen.

hmm no idea which one that is then. i only remembered that RM7k one... would have gotten it if not for the fit and that thin-thin-going-to-break-at-any-moment treble.

No. That one you tried is their armature flagship. its Rm4000 and its called FI-BA-SS. The Rm8000 ones are dynamic drivers. (:

I wonder how the Japanese people over at Japan sees FAD. They've got very stiff competition from other Jap manufacturers, and by no means that every one of those competitions are slouches.

Oh, and to hongrui, this is it:

I'm kinda curious about these ported BA designs, this 'balanced air' armature thing.

They have a different type of technology implemented.
Other people of BA = Balance armature
FAD of BAM = Balance air movement

i do agree they don't have thick mid like Westone or Shure series, i would prefer to call them untraditional, be frank i believe they are crafting their own desire of sound for the company.

There are lots of feedback to their product, that's why they are having lots of new product range to satisfied different taste.

And i'm always curious about their special customize BAM driver technology, it should be the secret of their amazingly tuned mid sound frequency.

Oooh, in their website, they say they have a headphone coming up called the Muramasa VIII.

And their website is creepy. What's up with those perfectly symmetrical faces showcasing their products being worn?

But OMG, it features a twin driver setup! One 40mm driver and one 8mm tweeter in each earcup! ohmy.gif
And...LOL, it weighs 850g. laugh.gif Well, being stainless steel and all. tongue.gif
