Heaven 7: Compared to 8, it sounds much more clearer due to the lack of thicker bass. However, it has somewhat rougher overall texture, and the bass slams a little harder and sharper. Lean towards aggressive and more exciting sound. Would recommend for emotional songs and classicals. Pop songs sound very clear but a little "edgy". Sounds good with better amp but I couldn't turn up the volume for too long as it's quite piercing to my ears.

Heaven 8: Compared to 7, or any other Heaven series in my memory, it's the most calm sounding one. First thing to notice is the lack of typical FAD sparkle. The bass is the second thing comes to my attention. It's definitely thick, and in some tracks, overpowering. But I can hear that it's not the main attention of the music. The thick and much rounder bass could be a good complementary to vocals to bring out the calmness out of the voice. Everything sounds so orderly, not lacking details even without the sparkle. One might find it dull or boring, I find it rather relaxing to listen to. Paired this with Lotto Paw Gold, details are coming out rather convincingly. Used this on LP? The staging extends beyond the earphones. Can clearly hear the instruments outside the headstage. Scales great with good amps as it sounds even fuller and clearer while doesn't bring pain to my ears as it is without the elevated treble.

I have opportunity to audit Heaven VIII recently and Wow.. Surely I like the sonic quality of the IEM. Built quality is gorgeus and top notch plus Great packaging as well..
So sad for Me, because it's not the time for Me to up upgrade yet.

On the other hand, as owner of Final Audio Heaven V Aging... I straight away grab my heaven V after cameback audit heaven VIII smile.gif The good thing, which is lucky for Me I still like the sound quality Heaven V produced..

Then i plugout stock earbud and replace with comply that comes with my UE900 accesories, the Low note of the heaven V become pronounce better.. Hmmm Lucky me for not to upgrade at this stage..

But in future, who knows smile.gifsmile.gifsmile.gif

Was in Jaben today to test FAD Heaven 2 before deciding to buy. Tested it. Gooding.

Went to pay. Rm370.

Its on sale! Rm245 only! A fantastic surprise. For those looking to buy. It's a good chance now.

My Heaven 2 is going through burn in session now. Without seasoning. It sounded drastically different from the one available for test in Jaben.

Last Saturday in Tokyo I went to Nakano Broadway and get a chance to mini audition FAD Heaven VI. I only have music on my Spotify (not my usual list) and fire my reggae palylist.

I can't stop tapping my foot and bobbing my head. It's that enjoyable. My God! The custom iem I tried at eEarphone that worth 4-5k gave music greater transparency and sense of space but this is different. I can't stop to think, just transported to different dimension and enjoying the music to its fullest.

Too bad it's the last day and I need to go to airport already. Definitely a fan of FAD right now..

Man that some powerful sorcery at play here.

Yea it is how the founder keep on emphasise the idea of his sound tuning, i met him once in Malaysia, amazing guy and he explained to us what is the concept behind, hence comes the analog crossover he is doing for all FAD series (Before he pass away).

FAD doesn't have the most accurate, detail or transparency you can find in lots of high end IEM, however there is magic inside to keep you listening without getting off.

Yes exactly. I rave it to my friend in Whatsapp and he ask me to describe how the sound was. And I can't gave him the answer. Maybe if I have more time auditioning I might have some idea. But mere 20 minute all I can do is lose myself in music. Even if just another common list on Spotify. I already delete all my iPhone alac song to make way for picture taking. Stuff like chesky test song, lorena mckennit and alison Krauss all gone and I don't have my wifi at the time. But it doesn't matter. It's that great that everything is enjoyable.

Need to save some money and grab one.

The house sound is unique due to the echo you hear I think. It's airy, and almost everything sounds more airy than other earphones you heard. I guess that's the magic. thumbup.gif

WoW it has been so long since the last time I visit Lowyat Forum and I am so surprised and happy so see we have so many fans of Final Audio Design in Malaysia.

Just looked through some thread over there and I think some people might have misconcepting the requirement of Amps on Final Audio Design product.

If you look at FAD line up, most of their product has very low impedance compared to others. Low impedance means that you can drive it easily with any source. However, it does not means that you can fully 100% drive it with any source. There is one BIG weakness dealing with low impedance phones.

I own FAD FI-BA-SS and Sonorous VI (Renamed Pandora Hope VI) and both of them are 8ohms impedance.

I believed that phones with such a low impedance do not need amp and indeed when I tried my FI-BA-SS with a lot of amps while I enjoying myself in Yodobashi Camera, Akihabara, I did not feel big different, with amp or without amp.

However, one day I came across an amp, I was so surprise, it gave my FI-BA-SS a big step of upgrade in term of bass. Then I started to look around trying to find the answer and I start to realize that I miss one big important issue.

Driving a low impedance phone is easy, but the source (player or amp) which is driving it, if the output impedance is > 1/8 of phone impedance, then the sound you get into your ear are actually deducted especially for low frequency range.

Look at FAD phones, some of them are having 8ohms, and actually not many players having their output impedance as low as 1ohm (1/8 * 8 ohms). Thus, if you are not using a player or amp which is <1ohm, trust me, you are not listening to its full power.

Try to find some low output impedance amp and try your FAD rigs, you will feel the different. smile.gif

List of FAD phones with the output impedance:

8ohms: (Maximum player/amp output impedance = 1ohm)
Lab I
FI-BA-SS
Sonorous VI (Former Pandora Hope VI)
Sonorous IV (Former Pandora Hope IV)

16ohms: (Maximum player/amp output impedance = 2ohm)
Piano Forte X
Piano Forte IX
Piano Forte VIII
Piano Forte II
Adagio V
Adagio III
Adagio II
Heaven VI
Heaven V
Heaven IV
Heaven II
Sonorous X
Sonorous VIII

24ohms:
(Maximum player/amp output impedance = 3ohm)
Heaven VIII
Heaven VII

From my experience VII and VIII has two different signature, VII has more impact, direct and slight brighter sounding, while VIII is more balance, lush, warm and forward mid frequency.
