He decided to change a little direction (boost DPS), which is why I was wondering his current DPS with ~300 all res & ~30k HP now.

@goldfries: I checked your gears in-game, I think your all res is around ~490+ with around ~20k HP (612 vit). I think you can upgrade your xbow as they're pretty cheap to come by. Around 100k can get you a decent magic-socketed 980 DPS++ xbow already. (300 DPS upgrade is huge)

can. But sometimes without any attributes mainly dex

oh... those Blue xbow... with 3line or less...

The blue ones with socket, sometimes if lucky the yellow (rare) ones as well. But blue-socket bow is good enough as a head start.

I'm building a DH as a side char so I'd like to know if this bracer is good to have or should I look for something with crit chance instead.

Hmm, talking about bracers; any DH here uses one with Chance to Knockback (4% or higher)? Wondering if it'll help at all with such %.

Hmm, does it occur often enough (say with 4% KB / Freeze / any other proc-ings) to be considered as useful?
Still undecided whether to buy one & try myself or not.

but greater in how many?

ring 1:
130dex
4.5% crit hit chance

ring2:
130dex
30% crit. hit dmg.

which 1 u would choose?

I'd say it's really depending on your existing stats. How much is your base critical chance now? How much is your base critical damage now? Which would benefit yourself more?

In my case, I will go for the 4.5% critical chance as I've already got ~331% base critical damage (with Bow). But the rest is up to you, really.

Anyway, you can try to use DPS calculator (for DH) and see which one benefits you the most. It's one of my favourite calculator as it gives EXACT DPS that are shown in game, provided that I entered the values correctly & accurately.

Edit: Just a side note, too high chance with low damage or low chance with high damage will not be that effective. Best to strike a balance between the two.

my i dont have anything to add crit. hit chance, so is 5%
my critical hit dmg. is 257% only

If that's the case, the 4.5% crit chance will benefit you more (prior ShSh). Also by building up rates, you'll crit more often (even if using ShSh).

looks great for a tanking dh, with so many vit and armor. but no crit prolly not for dps type. still, the big vit is a plus.

Ah well, not worth to invest in I guess. Better stick with my existing one then

cos i tried focusing on DEX before and keep dying. end up going AR and LOH / LRegen path.

i tried 18k HP 700+ AR 33k dps. didn't make it.

i tried 35k++ HP 300+ AR, 38 dps. also didn't make it.

socket crossbow is one thing but I lost out on my precious LOH which i survive on.

Hmm, but the problem with the xbow is the DPS is too low to be sustainable. It's like, cannot dish out high enough damage or survive long enough (as xbow attacks slower). Give higher-dps xbow/bows a try (avoid taking hit / face tanking).

Alternatively, you can try to have a look at recent Tank Hunter builds. It's kinda effective as well (DPS is no longer the concern for this build). I'm currently duo-ing with a Tank Hunter where he'll do the face tanking of mob / packs; and I'll dish out DPS. Both are DH's and it works fine.

k. i using 2hand xbow only because of the skill that gives 50% bonus on crit.

am considering other builds now. with shield build sounds interesting.

Btw I wanna share a few other tips in gearing for those with tight budget.

Most ppl will only spam search 100 vit 100dex on almost all of their gear.This is a very ineffective way of gearing up, as most of these comboed together are priced very high.
What you can do to alleviate this is by COMBINING both stats so you have a lot of other breathing room to play around.

As a basic rule so not to compromise between defensive and offensive stats, most ppl combine together offensive and defensive stats, and I think its a great way of upgrading too.
You dont have to worry about "Do I lose 900dps to gain 4k ehp?" or stuff like that.
If you upgraded combined stats, youve upgraded.Simple as that.

You also want to ALWAYS upgrade two gears at a time.
If you dont have the gold, just farm up until you have enough to buy 2 upgrades.

An example for my case is Im currently upgrading my belt and shoulder.
My belt have 99vit and 112dex, for a total of 213 stats.

Since my next upgrade would cost me a bomb, I tweak the search to 150 vit and 50 dex.And voila, a belt with 174 vit (with a 10% life too! which makes it VERY good) and 63 dex came up, for a total stats of 237 (which is considered an upgrade of total combined stats)

With my belt purchase, my dex was down by 49.

Next, my shoulder have 148vit and 66dex ( a total 214 stats )
To recover my lost dex, I need 66+49=115 dex
Since my belt upgrade boosted my hp so much, I have a much leeway to reduce the vit on my shoulder upgrade so I put blank vit and 150dex, and I found 162dex 66vit shoulder( total to 228 )

So after all that shopping, I basically upgraded to a total of 38 combined stats.
