1hand and a shield...trust me you will not survive without it

yeah, I am already using 1 hand and a shield.

2h damage is actually lower, the damage shown in your inventory is taken from your highest damage weapon. 2h is only good when u have 2 very good weapon, else it's easily beaten by 1h and a shield

ok got it cause my WD i was using 2H for the bigger burst but nt sure how should i be playing in inferno for monk...

no wonder..was thinking why 2 weapons dmg lower than using 1 weapon & 1 shield.

but if like that, means the dmg deal is lower even if using 2 weapon??

it means, if you are dead, you cannot do dps. it is as literal and simple as that.
so investing in a bit of vit/resistance/mitigation, and/or defensive skill sets, can prove to be useful.

case in point, i believe almost every monk that plays beyond nightmare/hell difficulties are running with at least 2-3 defensive skills (obviously elective mode) in their skill set.
i personally run with 3 (minus lolsanctum) + a mantra

can u guys suggest a survival build for monk in nightmare and above?

for boss fighting (1v1) or PVE (1v100) ?

7 seconds invulnerable + helicopter (+25% ms) to cabut = safe

Some mobs in hell mode mmg totally cannot be defeated 1.. tried so many time cannot win also.. fire chain + invulnerability + pink lazer + mortar + molten.. all complete set.. how to kill?

both, especially elite in nightmare/hell. preferably stun with superb armor/helling type. just started my monk

im lvl 52 right now. any recommended shield guys?

any suggestion for tanker build ?
i have 37k hp and 4.1k def ... but still cannot survive
in hell mode i mean lol

This is what I can build with my current gold budget ...

barely surviving ... any ting need to add or minus??

start to hunt for 1 good shield with minimum 15% block chance + resist all element + high armor + high vit to survive in act 2 onwards.

dont be afraid to go for int too since it ironically adds physical resistance :/
inferno though you might wanna get ur hp to around 40k, more buffer time for reaction or cooldown waiting.

Got 1 rune, I think its either the first or second one, +3 additional seconds, so effectively it is 7 second of invulnerablility

ascension rune increase the duration of serenity TO 4 seconds. means 3 original + 1 rune = 4. (go test yourself lol)

hence most monks just get repose for the heal upon bubble (which most of the time unless you're pre-bubbling, you will need the heal lol)
