No he is not.No manager wants to one of the many. He's just waiting for the offer from FSG.

I don't think it's a difficult choice between roma and liverpool.
*
he wanted roma, but after roma hired montella suddenly he is interested in liverpool, thats why he is the favourite now to land the job

Rafa Benitez has not been approached by Liverpool and I believe there is no plan to do it for now
*
i did some researched and found this..

this was before KD got sack

Andre Villas-Boas is close to reaching an agreement with Roma to become their new manager, Goal.com has learned.

The former Chelsea boss is the No.1 choice of the Serie A club to replace current manager Luis Enrique, who is poised to leave the Stadio Olimpico at the end of the season.

but then dont u think its weird that montella wasnt even in the shortlist of manager at roma but yet he get the job after KD got sacked

then i realise the owner of AS Roma is Thomas R. DiBenedetto , DiBenedetto is presently a partner in Fenway Sports Group, who own the Boston Red Sox and Liverpool, among other sport properties.

so im guessing the reason AVB did not get the job in roma because FSG wanted him in liverpool after KD got sacked, so thats why roma hired montella instead. this is basically what i feel, not sure its true though but its certainly worth to take note though since AVB was so close in getting the job but after KD got sack, things changed.

No i'm not implying that FSG are pressuring DiBenedetto, but now that you mentioned it, it does seem probable tho unlikely. My speculation was based on corporate greed - and that DiBenedetto saw it at his best interest in the long run that Liverpool get their man. But yea it's all speculation as we don;t know the ins and outs of DiBenedetto and his stake in FSG. But who knows, may be there are side deals going on behind the scene. Or perhaps it's simply nothing and that the appointment of Montella was strictly a football decision.
*
FSG own liverpool, if liverpool is making money then Dibenedetto is getting his share as well, as for roma giving up AVB to liverpool, we might never know the truth, that would depends on the relationship they both have, and money might be involved for DiBenedetto to let AVB go..you just might never know. and if they see something not right about AVB im sure Dibenedetto would inform Henry as well.

Fabio Capello gets Liverpool Call

Fabio Capello has held talks with Liverpool FC about the vacant managerial role and will soon meet with the club’s owners for further discussions, according to ESPN.
A source told ESPN: “The long list of candidates is now narrowing down to a workable number who are likely to go to Boston, although there is of course a chance that the owners will come over here to see the candidates.”
Capello has been heavily linked with the Chelsea job, but he recently ruled himself out of the running without having received an approach from the European Champions.
The Liverpool job is said to be of interest to Capello, who is seeking one last big challenge before calling time on his managerial career.
Roberto Martinez, Andre Villas-Boas and Rafa Benitez are also believed to be on the short-list, while Jurgen Klopp and Frank de Boer have recently committed their futures to their current clubs.

Yup, we certainly can't but like I said, if we're going to give someone like Martinez 30 million to spend in his first season, it would have been better to give it to Kenny for him to continue his rebuilding.

I have no problems with him getting sacked. While I was willing to give him one more season (well, come on, we reached 2 finals so we can play when we want), i'll support the new manager and hope he does better.

I'm not sure if being sentimental and maintaining the Liverpool way will win us anything in short term but I guess it's a price we may have to pay for instant success but I quite like how the FC Barcelona club is run.

Philosophy, Barca way whatver you want to call it, from top to bottom, manager to players, first team to under 8 and it has reap rewards and will continue, IMO. And it took 20 years or so to build.
*
the problem is FSG have instant success with boston red sox after he fired the manager after a poor season..

Yeah they did but I am not sure if the same method can exactly be applied to football unless they are prepared to spend money like Manchester City. Even so, it took Man City three or so years to even qualify for the Champions League, let alone with the Premier League on goal difference.

Worst case scenario is, let's say new manager doesn't finish top 4 .. do we also sack him and start over again? :/
*
we take boston red sox as an example because i believe FSG apply the same philosophy, after FSG managed to get a new manager in boston they wont the world series 2 years in a row, but the following year they failed to reach the playoff, and then what happen? FSG sack the manager =.= .. the problem with them is they wan instant success and they need the manager to win champions league every year, for me i believe champions league is FSG aiming for and i dun think league title would save our new manager.

Yeah, that's why I said they will need to be prepared to be investing 50-100 million everytime they bring in a new manager (who happens to have a different football system and philosophy) because he would wnat his own players and all that, as opposed to, let's say, a manager for a long term who probably only needs 30 million each season to add to his already-built system.
*
but i get a feeling that the next manager who comes in will not have any power in buying and selling players

My Dalglish shirt total with name, number and patches is 49 pounds (RM 245) and the Rush shirt is slightly cheaper cause less letters. Still cheaper than buying for RM 259(?) in Malaysia with no name, number or patches.

It gets released on 1st of June so I guess the shirt should arrive one or two days after ...
Yeah and apparently .. I heard they wanted young players will full of potential - hence Henderson, Coates, Suarez and Carroll .. but then sack the manager when he doesn't deliver?

I'm not sure, but maybe it isn't true.

And yeah, no power, definitely not the job Rafa Benitez would take.
*
definitely not the job anyone would take, only those who do it for the sake of money would do it.

we might had our 19 league title.. i just hope we wont turn out to be like everton, in the 80s there are a contender for champion, if not for liverpool i wonder how many titles they would have won. i just hope we wont be turned into a mid table team

I personally don't think the tactic applied to Boston Red Sox will work for us...completely different system and sports.

American sports leagues have salary caps and uses a trading transfer system where you trade players for players for as long as the deal fits within both teams' salary cap. Unlike in football, billionaires buy a playground and try to fill it with toys by bidding silly money and wages on players inflating the transfer market. No loyalty whatsoever in this system, players can easily get out of his contract by refusing to play or whatever forcing the club to sell him.

Billy Hogan set for Commercial Director Role

Billy Hogan of Fenway Sports Group is set to be named Liverpool’s new Commercial Director, according to Bloomberg.
Hogan, who has a close working relationship with principle Reds owner John W Henry, will slot into the new role in time for the start of next season. The move will allow Ian Ayre to focus on footballing matters such as recruitment, a role previously undertaken by ex Director of Football Damien Comolli.
Hogan replaces Graham Bartlett, a former Nike executive, less than a year into his tenure.

If we want a new stadium, first we have to get into the CL.Anyone who tells you otherwise is lying.

we all knew he came out with this statement is because he know that fans are pissed, so he came out with this statement to calm us down abit and to divert the attention on who will be our next manager.
