Andre Villas-Boas will this weekend be interviewed for the vacant managerial post at Liverpool.

Villas-Boas, who has been out of work since losing the Chelsea job in March, fits the criteria of the Liverpool owners as they target a young coach who can remain in the job long-term. Wigan manager Roberto Martinez, 38, also remains in the frame for the post.

but i remember i read somewhere martinez schedule to interview at aston villa a day before liverpool interview

There you go boys. A season of football that shows success can be bought with truckloads of money.

Certainly doesn't bode well for the future of football.

Expect plastic price to drop tomorrow. Supply more than demand now.

but thats not the case with ours..100mils but bought average players

Added on May 20, 2012, 5:39 amCapello closes door on Chelsea: I'm not going there, says Fabio, but Liverpool still interest him

Fabio Capello has followed Barcelona’s Pep Guardiola in publicly rejecting the prospect of managing Chelsea.
The Italian, who quit as England manager in February over the Football Association’s axing of his captain, Chelsea’s John Terry, is keen for a return to the Premier League.

But Capello said on Saturday that he would not be taking over from Roberto Di Matteo at Stamford Bridge.
‘I will not go to Chelsea,’ said Capello, after he was filmed greeting Terry on the pitch before Chelsea’s Champions League final in Munich against Bayern.
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich may yet be able to change Capello’s mind but the 65-year-old Italian, who enjoyed huge success as a club manager with AC Milan, Roma, Juventus and Real Madrid, is showing interest in the vacancy at Liverpool instead.

Capello’s rejection of Chelsea is unexpected, given that he had made the running with the club by requesting information on their set-up. But it may still concern Chelsea that two high profile and well qualified managers have now ruled themselves out of the job.
Bayern Munich coach Jupp Heynckes claimed that he could never work for an owner like Abramovich, who demands tactical discussions with his managers, and that could be adding a fear factor to the recruitment process.

It's all embarrassing to be honest. I'm not sure if it's the anti yank sentiments or we're simply not an interesting prospect. 5 years ago, there's no way a club like Wigan would talk about us like that. And now people are rejecting us right left and center.

FSG has to show leadership and they are being to cryptic for their own good.
*
thats because everyone know FSG make a mistake when they sack KD without having a proper planning nor helding talks with manager..its like what hokkien people always say "ai pang sai liao ka lai ai or kang" wan shyt time only wanna dig hole"

after so many days but still no news this certainly prove they are having pressure in finding someone who are willing to listen to them, i believe FSG wanna control everything including the power to buy and sell players. so basically the purpose of having a manager is just like a painting.

No i mean't the quote. The writer didn't provide a single quote of him saying anything about Liverpool.

To be honest the Liverpool job in my opinion is still a very attractive one because it is the most challenging right now in Europe. The one who can bring glory back to the club will be the true special one. Pretty sure the best of the best would relish that challenge!
*
thats why i feel the problem that is we r still without manager is FSG could not find anyone who is willing to let FSG take control of everything

Yes i read that Burn, but that's the writer insinuation and not Capello's words. If he said "I'm not going to Chelsea but Liverpool interests me" then that's credible. It comes from the horse's mouth so to speak.
*
im not saying the source is 100% credible, but up until now pep and capello doesnt confirm nor deny that they interested in managing the club yet.

Yeah someone is leaking all this info and i'm not sure who and why. The club has never confirmed nor deny it has 12 names on the list. Yet all these reports seem to be convinced one way or the other.

Maybe it's all pre planned. Maybe they have already identified a target - and maybe that target is not exactly popular among the media and fans. But when they do eventually sign the fella, they will say that they tried to talk to 12 people but everyone has rejected Liverpool and so we can't blame them for their choice.
*
its possible, up until now, there's still player link to our club, saying formal bid will be made once liverpool appoint a new manager, so if its true that means manager will not have the power to buy the players they wanted but instead have to use whatever player they have in the club which are bought by someone in the club. if thats the case then there;s no way world class manager would wanna join our club so they got no choice but to find those manager with lower reputation.

and if david dein is appointed as DOF then we are screw as well because he is the one advising FSG to sack KD

QUOTE(all blacks @ May 21 2012, 12:32 AM)
Torres to quit Blue....  whistling.gif

Torres was an unused substitute in Chelsea's FA Cup final win over Liverpool, and he was only introduced in the Champions League final after Bayern Munich took the lead with seven minutes remaining. The £50 million man's introduction at the Allianz Arena coincided with a Chelsea revival, which saw them win the trophy on penalties.

The Spaniard looked frustrated at being left on the bench for one of the biggest games of his career, admitting later that he "expected to start", and now the former Liverpool striker will look for first-team assurances before deciding if it is "worth it" for him to stay at Chelsea.

"It's contradictory because I feel like I'm at a peak moment in my career, with more desire and hunger than I've felt in a long time, but I've had to spend the final on the bench," Torres was quoted as saying by guillembalague.com. "It was a huge disappointment when I saw the line-up, perhaps the biggest in my life.

"This season I have felt things that I never had before. I've felt like they treated me in a way that I didn't expect, not in the way that was spoken of when they signed me.

"We've had a lot of talks and we'll talk about my future because the role I've had this season is not for me, nor is it the one I expected to play when I came here. I'm not comfortable.

"I want them to tell me what is going to happen in the future. Football has been fair on us, on me. Now, I do feel like football is worth it, but I've been through a difficult time. The worst in my career. I don't want that again.

"There's been many times when I've felt lost - I wasn't sure what to do. I felt like I didn't know where I belonged. I'm eternally grateful to my family, who have been by my side, and also for the support of the owners, who have stuck by me, and especially to the fans - if it hadn't been for them this season I would have given up.

"I need the club to tell me what is going to happen and what sort of role I will have within the team, what my duties are, what the club expects of me - and then judge whether it is worth it."

Torres had appeared to be unhappy ahead of the penalty shootout against Bayern and he revealed: "I wanted to take a penalty but they didn't let me."

Would u have him bak?

drogba seems to be leaving this season, so either torres will get play time or they will feel torres is not good enough for chealsea hence sell him to get some money to fund a new striker, btw what happen to meireles??

I know, but most of the candidates have rejected the offer so we only have Martinez, AVB and Rafa.
*
i think only martinez and avb is in the list..FSG doesnt want rafa because he know that rafa will have fans backing and if they sack rafa then everyone will hate FSG. Martinez now seems to have villa in his mind, so now left AVB, thats why he is telling the world he is not rushing because he knew he is the only one who is suitable because everyone else rejected liverpool

AVB is alright, but remember he wanted the job at roma and have no interest in liverpool untl roma hire montella then only he turn his head to liverpool, and since now he know he is the prime candidate he can still tell us he wont be rushed into signing for liverpool. liverpool will just be another source of income to him, when better club came knocking im sure he will turn to them and left us behind

They are in no wise responsible for leaking. We don't want that. just let them do their job.  Let them have media silence. It works in our favour, the Liverpool Way of doing things.
*
in transfer wise i dun mind they do behind closed door, but as looking for manager they keep silence its like fans are nothing to them, im not worry about anything just worry about when they release a press statement about our new manager its someone who we never heard of, then we know that we as a fans have been screwed by FSG

Spanish forward set for Liverpool return this summer

Spanish forward Daniel Pacheco is set to re-join Liverpool this summer after being rejected by both Rayo Vallecano and Atletico Madrid, reports talkSPORT.

The 21-year-old was loaned out by Liverpool to Atletico Madrid at the start of the season who in turn sent the player out to Rayo Vallecano.

If the Spanish under-21 international impressed then Atletico would activate a clause in the loan deal to sign Pacheco permanently. However. Pacheco’s minutes on the pitch have been extremely limited for Rayo with just 11 substitute appearances to his name throughout 2011/12.

This means Pacheco, who was signed by former Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez from Barcelona, will return to Anfield where he has a contract until 2014.

Pacheco spent some of the 2010/11 season on loan to Norwich City and is due to play in Adam Drury’s upcoming testimonial match.

True man.. Things started to fall apart when we sold Alonso in 2009, without a proper replacement for him. We could have challenged the Premier League properly in 2009-2010 considering how strong the team performed the season before, we just needed some improvement in squad strength, but instead we sold one of the best players in the squad.. sad.gif Imagine Alonso stayed with us and we got Suarez in the team without Torres leaving.. As much as I respect Rafa as one of the best managers in our history, I just felt he built the team and dismantled it himself piece by piece somehow.. Not sure how long we Liverpool fans have to wait again to see the team challenge the title.
*
please look back a few pages when someone posted about rafa saying he wanted barry is because he can play in many position and alonso felt that rafa wanted to replace him hence he request for transfer.

That one I know. It wasn't really a secret either anyway back in those years at 2008 and 2009.

then why instead of blamin rafa for sale of alonso why not blame the owner? in those 6 years in charge if i remember correctly rafa never sell any of his main 11 players. and each of his signing raises in value. and how most of the player he signed is basically unknown until rafa made them who they were today.

Although I support Rafa like you did, I have to disagree on this part. Alonso, Torres and Reina weren't nobody. Alonso was back then the captain of Sociedad, Torres was captain of A.Madrid. Reina was one of the most promising keeper in La Liga. They are not unknown. Mascherano, albeit did not play well in West Ham, was well known in europe. Riera was Espanyol player of the season before we bought him. The list goes on... Though I must give credit to Rafa for getting them here and make the best out of them. Brilliant.
*
yes, they werent basically unknown but yet they are not the type of player that would attract top clubs. but when they come to liverpool, suddenly they are wanted by every major club

for me i dun mind if he has big ego, but i mind until now he is waiting to see if there's any offer from other club before deciding to accept us, so clearly we are 2nd grade club to him
