QUOTE(mr hellscream @ May 20 2012, 04:51 PM) T_____T now on paranoid android. also cannot access recovery. used CWM Manager apk also cannot. three button also cannot I suggest you flash cm9 kernel ( same as used in paranoid rom) to activate back your CWM. use Mobile odin to flash the tar file. Download it at :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=26253911 If this still fail to get CWM back, your only choice now is to flash back any prerooted GB rom using Odin in PC and flash back the relevant Chainfire kernel to get back CWM |

QUOTE(nothing_nth @ May 20 2012, 05:12 PM) What is fransco ? Are you referring to Franco kernel - if so, you cannot as this is GB kernel. Only GB kernel you can use is Abyss 4.2 and that is just to use its recovery to do wiping and flashing romsParanoid rom is using Cyanogen9 kernel - I suggest DO NOT even think of replacing this kernel with any kernel as one of the seasoned XDA developer has hardbrick his phone trying to install LPY kernel on top of Cyanogen9 rom which Paranoid is based on |

QUOTE(micdy @ May 21 2012, 11:30 AM) Hey guys, I am interested in buying a Galaxy Note but don't know what is the difference in warranty between AP and Ori set. Yes I'd read the front page. The AP set warranty is covered by the shop. YES, once rooted warranty is void for both SME and AP setsMy question is, for the ori set when you root you void warranty, does the same rules apply to AP set as well? |

There is still no third party kernels yet for the ics roms. All ics kernel are tied to specific roms. You can swap kernels but read up first whether any risks by so doingthanks There is no kernel that allows oc yet |

You can also download Msia ICS via sammobile firmware: http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=3&...000&r=2#regiona

Easiest download it from sammobile and use odin in PC to flash it but you will lose root/CWM ( if your phone is rooted ). If your phone is rooted, just use Mobile Odin to flash the tar file and you maintain root/CWM
I am now downloading the Msian ICS from sammobile and expect completion in another 2 hours . Will flash it using Mobile Odin Updating firmware thro KIES is often slow, unreliable and frustrating. Try it if you want OTA through KIES This post has been edited by benny888: May 22 2012, 11:54 AM |

QUOTE(mmw5610 @ May 22 2012, 12:02 PM) Uncle Benny, I am from gb stock rom with franco kernel. Do I need to flash back to stock kernel and update it with mobile Odin to Malaysia ics stock rim? You must flash back to stock kernel if you want auto update through KIES - which to me si hopelessly slow n unreliableIf you are lucky it will goes well or end up a frustrating experience Your phone must be rooted to use Mobile Odin Pro If your phone not rooted, only way is to use Odin in PC to flash it Than only proceed root and CWM thereafter |

QUOTE(kuntilanak @ May 22 2012, 12:06 PM) Thanks, but I think it may not be the case. I did the upgrade earlier via Kies from 2.3.5 to 2.3.6. The downloading of firmware and loading up to the phone is no problem. After that, the phone will automatically boot into 'Downloading... Do not turn off target!!' for few minutes, the restarts... This time, that particular screen is there for a very long time and I'm scared to turn off the phone... So you are scared to turn it off and just let it at the download mode - fine, go ahead and leave your phone as it is thanAnd let the battery drain and dies off Trust me, your phone will not brick. Take out battery wait few minutes and boot it on again |
