Since here all are well praised for the Pug 408T, I would like to ask here; with Volks Jetta vs Pug 408T vs Ford Focus, may I knw which one is better: in terms of handling, servicing cost and value for money? Cos I'm in the middle to change to new car but stuck to these three choices. Really need you guys expertise to help me.
*
Pros:
Ford Focus: As we all know Ford are well known on its handling. Good in FC. Now Ford offering 3 years free maintenance for Focus.
Peugeot 408: Spacious segment C that offering in that amount, turbo Prince engine. Auto headlamp + wiper and other accessories.
VW Jetta: Good branding. Good FC. DSG + TSI

Cons:
FF: Too many fancy (useless) accessories?! Lack of cabin space.
Peugeot 408: No push start. High FC. Boring rear exterior.
VW Jetta: Abit overpriced? Boring interior?

Tested FF last week. Personally prefer 408 tongue.gif

Just my 2 cents. Dont fire me whistling.gif

Hi I am considering to buy the 408 2.0 and need some help. Plan to change to leather seats. SAs says will not void warranty but Peugeot will not give written confirmation.

Has any 408 2.0 user changed to leather seats and any issue with warranty when going to SCs. TQ
*
What kind of warranty will it void? IMO, since it's installed by Peugeot, why not just go ahead. I feel that the leather much more comfort than fabric. Just personal...

since there is almost none for major one...
*
Minor prob:
- High FC due to the gear change
- Rat sound on the door
- Left align steer
- Blue tooth not auto connected

If you dont mind, try to read back our post. nod.gif

Elantra not a bad car also, just if compare the performance

different engine, please. the 'm' engine is, i dare say even better than what you find in the flagship 508.
*
+1

Ya, it's actually dif engine from 308 and 508.
Ever heard complaints from 508 owners, but so far... none from 408T owner. Many of us been to the first 10k service, I believe none is complaining the engine issue. If u really interested on 408T, enjoy it!! Cheers~~

Could you share what is the 'm' engine difference between the 308t and 408t. Is the 508 using the same engine? Are the gearbox the same across the range?

I test drove 308t, halfway thru the engine check light appeared, SA said it's normal and given its a test car, they have not serviced the car.  rclxub.gif

Which car is giving out 170hp, 508,408t or Optima?
*
Place read back the previous post from Skyjack for the dif in between. 308T and 508 shared the same engine (correct me if I am wrong). while 408T using an improved engine that rectified most the faulty.

The 308 u tested is the previous model or FL-ed version? Wonder if they rectify those issues on 308T.
My friend's 308T really gives him lots of troubles. Been sent in to SC few times just less than one year.

308T = 156hp
408T = 163hp
508 = 156hp
New batch K5 = 170hp

i think door visors disrupt the aerodynamics and increases cabin noise (wind)...thats y most (if not all?) continentals do not have door visors. do correct me if i'm wrong.
*
Ya, this is what I worry. Though the supplier claim the other way round, they said will improve aerodynamic and decrease wind sound from the window.

From sales perspective that's true but from "one" of the branch, remaining 408 NA unit is lower than turbo unit.
Just booked 408T and 408NA last Sunday  whistling.gif  whistling.gif

Offer is just too good for us smile.gif Trade in value comparable or even more than those selling direct to buyer
