My 5 year-old dropped the iPad 1 (with only a hard back cover) many a times without problem. Mother-in-law dropped her iPad 2 (with front and back leather case) with dents and chips on 2 corners. My wife's iPad 3 (with a rubber case) survived pretty well from a few drops.

I dropped mine last few weeks.... I just brought my Ipad during March lolz.... So it still consider new.... Nothing happened but just a few small scratch lolz....

One time i get into fight with my wife..then she throw(like really-really throw) her iPad to the floor while standing..Luckily i used hard cover for the iPad..the edge of the hard cover crack already but thanks God the iPad is ok..hehe...

dropped my ipad, the screen cracked but still functioning. warranty already expired. anyone knows if i can fix it, where and at what cost? dank u wel.

My friend iPad 3 screen crack right after it dropped from elbow height, with casing somemore.

i drop mine from 1 feet high in a smart cover.now it has a dent at corner and the front white plastic seem to break away with back cover.....

Yea, don't know is bad luck or the build quality is really not good.

I drop my newly bought 3days ago ipad 3.. accidentally drop when i am holding in the toilet.. well u know, sitting there do ur business and searching web.. it suddenly drop.. but luckily, no dent... but heart pain.

Dropped my ipad 1 once, dented on the side.
But sold to someone else with cheaper price..sigh, shouldn't have done so.
Therefore is more careful handling my current ipad..hehe!

Ya u r lucky mine also dropped at bathroom but dented luckily screen still perfect and so are the functioning of the ipad

i think apple product is a best quality product.

That is a very strong statement but it sounds like you're a fanboy.
I think it differs by model, some other brands may have better quality of products than Apple.

Cant remember how many times my kids alrdy dropped or throw my ipad 2.they even jumped on it. Got 2 sratches on screen then only i bought the SP.got very minor dented on the edges.used a cheapo rm25 casing but kids alway put it off.now i m with my retina ipad. Strickly for my self.

Drop from bed first time, feel like end of world. Since then, drop 10 times from same height, np.
Even sat on it accidentaly 3 times, it's hardcore device! Without protector mind you.
