Oekh. thanks for the info. Currently, Im trying to make a robot, erm, just a simple one. Like a tank with an arm on it. But, my prob is, where can I get simple mechanicle componet, such as motor to move the arm. Tamiya motor cannot a, coz it spin too fast. I want to find electrical motor with a gear on it, so the output will be strong and steady..heh~

Any suggestion?

yo mezerwi,

if you want to see how a PIC microcontroller looks like, i think you can goto microchip.com

they give out free samples too

Hehe got a noob question here.I wanted a steady 5V DC supply...so I dicided to use a LM7805 regultor. The problem is that the 7805 get to hot so quickly and the other thing I tried using the 9V batteries when I connected it to the 7805 input I get only around 2.3V at the output and the 9V batereis got around 8.41V.

make sure ur amperage is less than the lm rating. in the datasheet, it will say that at this amperage, need heatsink of certain watt.

the output u get might be from a wrong configuration? or the heat..u haf to try them out.

Wah, after surfing those website, I still cant be on the stream meh.

Still need advice here, well, Im really new to this kind stuff.

Perhaps there will be a person who can instruct me all the way..geez..

Erm, If I wanna grab a piece of PIC, how much would it be?

maybe your circuit draw too much current and make the voltage hot and the regulator become hot. how much current ur circuit draw?

Hmm don't think my circuit draw to much current . I just wanna test that 7805 regulator...so I connected it to a 7 segement display.

Anyway have anyone tried to purchase any stuff online through the link which listed the online suppliers on the 1st post ?If have, how was the service

Farnel warehouse? It looks like an office to me.I went there and they said I need to order first, than I can collect the stuff 4 to 5 working days latter and they said they don't keep any stuff there so that's why they need to order first.

Anyway here is the link for the location.

Try Farnell and RS. They are quite reliable.

Did you connect all the wires properly.. 7 segment display will roughly use only about 0.02 till 0.1 amp provided you connected correctly. Depends on the circuit also. If bigger circuit will use more amp. But usually very little amp only. You can use DC chopper circuits / analog power supply. Analog power supply is mostly using 7805,7809,7812 and 7824. For my final year thesis, I designed DC chopper circuits for use in motor / etc. Quite fun.. Very easy provided you have good books. Buy India books. They provide you with all the revelent calculations so that you don't have to crack your head during the calculation parts.

Farnell is near jalan 222.... food court/proton edar/bsa wheels road...

most of the product ARE READY STOCK.... but you refer to the website first whether they have it in stock...

total price are all listed, and if your item is ready stock, just go their office (ground floor)/warehouse (2nd floor), and place order there... take about 15 mins to get things ready...

I like their service (although abit xpensive) bcoz you can find datasheet to the product as well they carry most product that you can't find in jalan pasar...
