To finish level on points with a sugar daddy team (easily could have bought all the best players in the world and double/triple their wages)..... that's quite an achievement! Spending only less than 20mil in a season with this achievement is quite remarkable.... Congrats to the Citizen and credit to them.... the competition is getting more and more competitive now... imagine if City is still the old City.... the title could have been won long ago..... can't depends on Chelsea who squad is old.... can't depends on stingy Arsenal who trophy cabinet remains unused for last 7 years.... not too mention flop king kenny squad who spent more than 100mil and finished a laughable 8th...

there's no need to make other teams look ugly while we're no better in shape mate. at least d blues & d other reds won something when we got nothing to lift (apart from d big plate in d beginning of d season). yawn.gif

d league is gettin more competitive & we definitely need to improve. gonna be very interestin when d transfer window is once opened again... icon_idea.gif

hopefully losing this title will be a wake up call to all the players and spurs them to be more efficient and ruthless in each game(also will make SAF to add couple of world class players in).
forever united!

so now saf still think his squad good enuf?..lol

I do think that united's squad is good enough, we lost the title through goal difference, winning the same points as City. We did that with a secondary back four that is constantly changing.

the squad is decent enough (except the unfortunate injury crisis), but there's area that do need strengthening in order for the team to challenge those top dog

Vida already missed pre season. so I hope he can make it before the kick off. I hope Anderson will be lucky next season. It's about time for him to have full season without long term injury

Clyne transfer seems imminent. Berba most likely leaving. No words about Owen.

I think we just short a couple signings to return to the best

yeah... you are right, we really need to improve ourselves.... i just feel frustrated with many Liverpool and Arsenal fans who keep mocking us losing the title in the FB when they themselves can't compete with the best.....
Seriously we need to replace scholes and giggs.... there were good servants from the last decade or so... but i think it's time to let the younger generation to take over.... very excited about our young players.... jones, smalling, cleverly, welbeck

alright, so here's my assessment:

GK: sorted
LB: Evra clearly needs someone to challenge the spot (Clyne perhaps?)
CB: with Evans, Smalling, Rio, Vidic, and Jones, we're good to go
RB: Rafael should get the nod and make this position his

winger: Valencia, Nani, Young, Giggs (Park i think he will leave)
midfield: on paper Carrick, Fletcher, Anderson, Cleverley and Scholes are decent pool of players, bu 3 out of 5 are "doubtful" at best with their injury record, so we have to stop gambling at that, especially Fletcher...

striker: with Berba, and possibly Macheda and Owen leaving, this part is thinning out, so 1 more backup striker should be fine

all in all, we will finally have to address the problem at the midfield this summer, and we should really really aim to NOT be so dependent on Giggs and Scholes anymore

IIRC Anderson played his best football (this season) when Cleverley and Welbeck were on the field together.. from the track records, the chances all they 3 could fit and play together are rare. Anderson wasnt really clicked with other CMs, unless we play 3 CMs.

brutally honest, ive got no hope for them (Anderson and Cleverley) to be our backbone for us next season.. they are still young though, time are on their side. some top CM /CAM like Xavi, Lampard, Senna etc bloomed late..

IINM Clyne is a right back?
Fabio should be the one covering LB, he is going on loan next season?

Giggs maybe can play the odd games here and there as wingers but certainly we can no longer include him in the main list for wingers, that leaves us with only Nani, Valencia & Young for a full season.

Anderson really has to stay fit and step up his performance and be consistent. This season is already his 5th seasons with us but he has not really show much consistency in his performances.

If we trust the rumours then yes, Fabio could be heading to Benfica next season for loan deal.

Live with it bro. A strong team always got a lot of haters. If they didn't mock us this season, they don't have much chance to do it in next coming seasonS.

Moreover. The trophy still at Manchester right? sweat.gif
