thanks for your time.

actually i m aware of the 40, 32, 28nm architecture also. i got read about the snapdragon s4 can 'overtake' d s3 quad in some cases , cuz the apps/script probably written for dual core optimisation. n u r right again about real world performance.

but across the board, surely a quad is better than dual core (im taking the understanding from computer)

then again, i always buy new laptop when they change the motherboard n die shrink rather than the proc itself, microsoft tick tock schedule...ie now using 2nd gen i5, but everytime, my computer didnt quite feel faster than my previous centrino 2 , they both also no faster than my first gen solo core lol

anything 'enhanced', most of the time is simply marketing gimmicks.

im sure the cortex A15  will supercede A9. but 40 vs 32 is 'marginal' but 32 to 28 doesnt seem so big lol

i guess the answer is we'll hv to wait n see if the feeling is right (or irresistible) , just jumpship right lol since nowadays, many of my neighbours children, or friend's friend or friend's friend's of friends r dying...we never knw whats happening tomorrow lol so just enjoy whatever u cant without flipping your bank account lol
*
so ask back yourself whether you really need the extra 2 cores tongue.gif

but as many mentioned, s3 got many features software wise which other phones dunhav.

as for me, since now i'm stuck with a 40nm processor, i might as well just wait for the 28nm.

sarcasm detected lol

but if the design is naturally fitting in our hands...wudnt tht be good.

only gripe is, i rmb owning the samsung wave, brushed metal...n DAMN, that phone can glide off your hand so easily like eel !!!! I swear...

i hope this brushed plastic isnt such...i just hate using casing. i never use casing on all my phone. well, myb i did, 15% of the time only

Don't know why these values are so bad on sgs3 compared to hox.  hmm.gif

Benchmark Pi measures the unit's computing capability, which provides a measure of processor performance. Lower is better. Despite our repeated testing torque on several occasions, we received never a better value than slightly above 600 ms, which in other words is worse than Galaxy II performs.

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

M3D Benchmark based on the popular game engine Unitiy 3D and shows off a 3D environment with a very large number of polygons. An advanced physics engine ensures that the processor cores also allowed to work.

One X is undeniably the feet of the M3D. Galaxy III position themselves between the Galaxy and Galaxy Note Nexus.
*
benchmark softwares are still.......softwares afterall

some are optimized for certain hardwares and vise versa

in other benchmark software you can find that the sgs 3 have an edge over the hox

thank goodnees... cos i was wondering when I will get details about sgs3 rather than hox... if I wanna know bout HOX I know where to go.... now I wanna know sgs3....

i still cant find the answer.... the G and nonG version wats the diff... will it affect sgs3 like sgs2???
*
SGS 3 dunhav G or non G yet rclxub.gif

if you're asking what happened to sgs 2. basicly the G version is a 'downgrade' from non G because it use a less powerful SoC

another note here to those HOX/SGS 3 fanboys or bashers alike

just be grateful and happy of what you have. SGS 3 may be more powerful and offer more feature compared to HOX, but it doesn't make HOX look like a 3310 right? HOX is still second in line to SGS 3 in the android flagship lineup.

as long it can last your usage for another year or so i dun see the point of " jealousy " here. trying to bring down other brands. if you're " jealous " because of the removable batt or expandable memory, and feel that you can't live without it, just sell your HOX and get a SGS 3 la. no need to bash and bring down the phone here.

as for me, since the batt and memory is still within and my usage, there's no need for me to change yet

and to samsung fanboys, there's no need to specifically trying to diss HOX as well. yes many times is HOX users who started the war 1st, but i've seen post by users who started it all by aiming at HOX 1st.

1 basher or fanboy can bring a bad name to the whole community in general

so how's the design put in your pocket easy to hear?
*
on the side? hmm.gif

last time i used to see phones (motorola E398) with such design. stereo speakers on the side. but as design become more slimmer, this concept is forgotten

speakers on the bottom (fruit brand) is not bad as well, but u have to put your phone head down 1st into pocket

Something like the previous leak.  But in order to make phones slimmer, I guess they have to put it at the back

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

i duno is it only me, but i feel that leaked concept is much slimmer

and i thought placing speaker on the side will make phones slimmer? because according to logic, if u place speaker to the back, ur adding thickness

It's still a concept, those photoshoppers can make it as slimmer as they want, denying the logic behind manufacturing tongue.gif

imagine how slimmer devices can go when this goes into production

QUOTE(KuLi @ May 7 2012, 10:06 PM)
short version:

1. Amoled shows punchy, vibrant but un-naturall colour. Plus point.
2. Amoled cannot get to 300ppi (ie. iPhone Retina screen's region). Hence S3 211ppi resolution.
3. Pentile arrangement of amoled results in 1 less colour per pixel (RED-GREEN-BLUE, so either RG or GB or RB).

Key point above:
With all the limitations of amoled, the last resort by Samsung is increase the screen size, sacrifice on PPI to gain brightness. This is good because consumer likes big screen phone.

S3 have 306 PPI

Guess he means after taking into account subpixel arrangement and somehow working that back upwards to "individual pixels"

sorta 306ppi / 3 * 2

i see. i lazy read the article because its in chinese, eventhou i understand chinese sweat.gif

so in conclusion what they have to say about the s3 screen?
