QUOTE(dltan @ May 6 2012, 01:41 AM) Bros, dont mind me asking...removing the SD logo and other decals wont hurt the paint ah? Wont it leave a pale patch or something? I left it on my car because I was afraid of that lor... remove now sure no such problem, don't even need to polish it...remove after few years later not sure loh. |

They have everything except paint coating. Hyundai Sg.Pinang send all their car to do number plate, remove logo, tinting etc at that shop. So they quite familiar with Hyundai car. if i remember correctly u r from penang rite? where is the shop u got ur stuffs done? i havent got my car yet but i'd like to know more so as to save the hassle of looking for info months later..i mean we could be in v7 or 8 d by then.. haha also, they got the sockets and bulbs for u? btw, i've only seen 1 elantra in penang this far and its white by the reg plate of PK* *0*0.. dunno if thats u.. I forgot to censored my number plate earlier, some forumer might seen it. Btw, changed the rear number plate light from original orange light to white LED makes hell lots of different. Do we need to do tyre balancing after getting the car ?
I find the test drive unit very noisy when speed above 80. Any 1.8 owner change their original MC5 tyre ? |

QUOTE(mav3rick @ May 8 2012, 11:36 PM) but XM2 not available for 17" 1 day or few days old they will still press u. Shop around will get you better trade in price i believe. So PS3 is the best for 215/45/17 ? I straight away change if tomorrow or thursday can get the car. But if not much different from MC5 then i am screwed. This post has been edited by tony: May 8 2012, 11:58 PM |

QUOTE(kekura @ May 9 2012, 10:01 AM) the tyre noise is (1.8) quite significant during highway cruise. probably, because the NVH is so good that the tyre sound is perceived as making the only noise. That's what i am suspecting, becoz it's so quiet inside, the tyre noise become very noticeable. So, should I change the tyre ? |

QUOTE(mav3rick @ May 9 2012, 10:59 AM) well..CMC5 is supposedly for quiet and comfy, so not sure what other tyres will be quieter.. anyway, how much do you think you can get back from trading in the CMC5?? Not sure bro..when the tyre shop saying that CMC5 cost around RM300, i felt he was trying to con me already.I said thank you and walked away. Didn't ask how much can trade in. QUOTE(mav3rick @ May 9 2012, 11:31 AM) That's why i just walked away...lazy to talk to him already.QUOTE(dcwhz83 @ May 9 2012, 11:38 AM) the standard CMC5 is a comfy and quiet tyre with good grip level... quite favourable compare to Michelin XM2 and PS3, Yoko C Drive 2... it shdnt make much difference even after u changed... so might as well keep it... remember if u trade in, u will lose quite a lot... remember all these tyre are almost same price range... I see..GY Asy 2 are hi performance tyres... guarantee even more noisier... Advan DB is suppose to quiet tyre, but its hi performance category also... so its quiet among hi performance category... but could not be more quiet than comfort category... I will just do balancing and see how then. |

QUOTE(dcwhz83 @ May 9 2012, 11:50 AM) if tyre noise is a concern, u can always add soundproofing... its easier to add the soundproofing compare to wind noise or engine noise... Huh ? soundproofing is very good already..its so quiet when travelling below 60.and if u cannot tahan the noise now when tyre is new, better add soundproofing... as tyres wear and tear will increase the noise significantly... |

Just got my 1.8A. This car is 100 times better than my old junk iswara 1.3 manual. At least 20 times better than my wife's Vios.
It seems like the tyre noise is only notiable by rear passenger. As a driver, it such a huge different. It feel everything is so premium. Inside and outside, compare with my old junk car which trade in for only 3k and 04 Vios of course. A bit nervous when driving at town area after 5pm. The wide and length of the car is huge different compare to my old car. Anyway, cruising from Gurney drive to Tanjung Bungah after 12am is so much fun. Btw, 1 question pop up on my mine, for those saying that the sterling feel so light is really beyond me. Are they driving a non power sterling car before they test Elantra ? The sterling obviously much more heavier than Vios. I can feel the tyres was firmly grip on the road. Anyway..1.8 is definately over power for Penang traffic. You just don't need that much power. It just a view from an ex under power 1.3 manual Iswara owner after consume 2 buckets of Guiness Stout. Don't take it too seriously...lol |
