if your SC cannot solve it...try Sg.Pinang 3S, they are good in solving those weird sound, they had solved my door and driver seat annoying sound. I didn't wait till 1st or 2nd service, just called the supervisor to make appointment.

Thanks bro. Anyway lazy to purposely go to SC, plan to do my 1st service this weekend, will solve it all together.

To Elantra9336, confirm with shop, the pedal lock quoted to me is Aorto lock, RM380, work similar to Locktech.

By the way, I found that my 1.8, even before 1st service, the fuel consumption is quite reasonable. smile.gif I think the bar is distributed quite evenly, Penang to Ipoh around 2.5bar, did some city driving, come back to Penang another 2.5bar dropped. Maybe the last 2-3 bars drop a little faster, but it is due to pure city driving back here.

Distance travelled: 473km
HW/ City: 55/ 45
Driving style: Moderate footed
No of ppl: Mostly 2
Filled up (full tank): 39.05 ltr (RM74.20)
Avg speed: 51kmh
Avg l / 100km (self calculated) : 8.26
*Highway l / 100km (110kmh): 6.2

I saw civic 8 gen with half tail lamp before.
It's ok if you never notice it purposely.

It is ok if you really didn't notice it purposely.
A picture worths a thousand word. What we discussed here is tail light on during night. Civic 8gen has full tail light, Elantra by default has half.

drool.gif Wow! quite same as my 1.6HS.. icon_rolleyes.gif

Hmm, but I think bigger CC only shines if car is driven continuously and maintain at higher speed. Stuck in jam, FC easily shoot up to the roof.

QUOTE(jusjus88 @ Jun 27 2012, 07:31 AM)
Frankly speaking, 1.8 does have better FC compared to 1.6

Because that's the optimum power to weight ratio.

1.6 is rather underpowered imo, we tend to stomp on the gas pedal more often, and also harder.

Maybe 1.8 is better for mid speed acceleration, hope the 2k summon fine won't be implemented brows.gif
However, for city driving, 1.8 little bit overkill.

hi guys,

how is hyundai elantra Qc so far ?
*
Complaints from me:
1. Broken boot latch, detached spring.
2. Vibration sound from rear cargo side

Other minor comment:
1. 1.8 ride is a little bit harsh over uneven road, maybe due to over pressure from factory and low profile tyre.

So far I am still curious on how does our 1.8 elantra compare to Civic FD 1.8, in terms of engine power, gear shifting speed & intelligent and NVH? Always wanted to try the FD but no stock.

Always heard from those Honda lovers praising how good the FD is, but anyone can clarify? Just out of my curiousity.

To shitoryuu:

I think you guys misunderstood my meaning. What I wanna say is, lower cc no matter what, will consume less fuel in city driving. For highway driving, it all boils down to power to weight ratio and gear ratio. 1.8 will be about comparable to 1.6 due to less throttle to maintain speed if there is slight slope. Afterall, the most important is still your right leg.

But agree with you higher cc definitely is more joy to drive. Can't wait for the 1st service, wanna let my car rev past 4k rpm (have been controlling very well to let car not rev above 4k rpm).

Nothing to comment on the boot latch, but a bit disappointed with SD assembly.

For suspension, maybe I am used to softer suspension car, Elantra 1.8 is a bit on the hard side, but I am definitely getting to use with it now. I have to say, the handling is very good, much better than what I expected from a Korean car, corner at high speed can feel that body roll is much less than my previous car.

just collected my 1.8 sleek silver

now i can compare my hyper and sleek silver, both also got defects  cry.gif

Hyper silver:
1- passenger front door handle very stiff.
2- extremely quiet...
3- brake pedal too stiff. not smooth. got spring krak krak sound when step slowly on it
sleek silver:
1-damn smooth door handle when open
2- noisier NVH... found out the rubber clip at the bottom came out! installed back at night, no chance test NVH yet.
3- brake pedal damn smooth when depress
4- noisy back door panels
5- air cond blower noisier!  mad.gif
6- noisier boot sound when open all the way up. sound of rubber stopper pressing on body 'ngek ngek'

damn is the QC dropping bcoz Inokom cannot cope with demand?  shakehead.gif

Wah, ur 1.8 also have noisy boot sound rclxub.gif ? However, dont think it is a serious problem though.. Have to admit that 1.8 dual zone auto climate aircone is a little bit noisier than 1.6 one.
