How much does it cost for a injection mold?
If our club invest a mold for our own design,
and start selling keycaps sets, is that profitable in the long run?

...... something like those Red Alert From Geekhack, they sell RM200 each set, and the sell around 250 sets each time,
and those are double shots meaning most possibly 2 mold.....a few hundred K each mold meaning they are losing money doing?

If we are looking for a single mold for PBT caps... I wonder what is the solid price.

But even that is probably still a stiff price for a lowly working classes like me......
rather doing that, I would buy ready made caps.....

So this parcel come in this morning, and opened it.
trusted seller, warping the parcel with many layers of bubble warps......
WTF so many layers of protections still can knock a dent on the corner of the box???

And there is another box in the parcel! A set of orange keycaps for it!
but..... it lack the number pad keys, because I do not need them for my 87 keys keyboards,
I ask the seller to take them out and sell them separately and give me discount
The seller give me RMB 200 discount on that

So here is the keyboard itself, the 10th anniversary Realforce,
it's 2nd batch, so you can see there is no 10th anniversary logo at the top right corner......

btw the LED light is Red, I will upload some photo of it later. maybe with the orange keycaps on.

I m typing on it right now Low-noise, it feel like red switch, much smoother and softer compare to the HHBK Pro 2,
if I would describe it with comparison to cherry switches, the HHKB Pro 2 is like brown mx switches, and the low-noise version is like the red switch.......

Here is the keyboard in different colored keycaps,
previously got some keycaps for the HHKB Pro 2,
so trying them on it to match the color as well,
but at last I used the orange and the original blue modifier.

with the LED on look like that.... the photos cannot capture the color of the led correctly.
the light are not as strong, and the Led are all red, not like the photo the middle are white.

Added on June 20, 2012, 10:18 pmStrangly the CapsLock and the Ctrl from the orange set are looking strange... the 2 caps lock come with it are same size... and one with LED window, one without. the Ctrl too, meaning when you switch the capslock to ctrl, the word doesnt switch just the LED window switch over.....
meaning the Ctrl with LED window IS the Caps Lcok... and the Caps Lock without the LED window IS the Ctrl, in its opposite positions....
did any one understand what I am saying?

But to be honest, Topre switch is not for everyone, some person in Geekhack,
they buy Realforce 87, and then decide to sell them off in the same day they got it.

Its best to try it before you buy it,
but in Malaysia I don't think there is any shop that allow you to try......
Epiguru can let you try them, if you go to Singapore or Penang.

And if you really want to buy from me, I can let you try my HHKB,

Hmm, for me it feel very different for the HHKB Pro2's "Thocking" and the low noise's smoothness of the varied weight Realforce87...
If you are coming to Malacca, please bring the Keyboard, so we can try each other's Realforce?

I m used to the HHKB, so I feel better typing on the HHKB's "thocking" for now.
they feel so different! and I am not used to switching around the different switches......
It's now my dilemma: to keep the HHKB Pro 2 and the Realforce together, or sell The HHKB.......

think will need more time to get used to it......

I think he plan to get the HHKB Pro 2 from me, it is not variable weight, it is uniform 45gms.
IMO great for gaming, registered key in at soft press, and tactile when bottoming out.

It just suit me so well

I love the HHKB Pro 2...... but since I paid so much for the Realforce 10th anniversary...
I want to sell the HHKB pro 2 to get some money to fill my wallet back......

I hope that I can quickly get used to the silent version Realforce...
or else I might regret if I sell the HHKB Pro 2......
