Clones don't hurt alone but when you have like 3 of them + phantasms pounding on you..sakit like hell. If you are a thief designed as a glass cannon, clones can and will kill you if you're not smart.


There's no point in capping 30/50 unless you really want the cosmetics. Do the stories and drop me a PM on the forums if you want to do Sorrow's Furnace. We can probably do it together with the Moa Chick scavanger hunt to get points on the Unique Mini and statue point.

9k crit at the cost of having 10k health. This means you can oneshot but get oneshotted. Not as easy as you think.

9k is actualized damage (and is the top of the range, highly unlikely to be scored successively). Theoretical damage goes up to 25k on test dummies.

The point of a beta is to test the game for bugs, not to have fun. You wanna buy or don't buy and if its fun or not fun to you really doesn't matter to us. Maybe do a little research next time?

@frega: They don't always oneshot and they have a very small window in which they can do it. The moment you control them they are dead so its really a give-take situation.

..and glass cannons are really ill-suited for big fights so they just die to the orgy of area spells.

You should see his other equally dumb thread in the Gamer's Hideout main section. There is a huge amount of coverage on GW2 and D3 and he needs to ask which one better then he proceeds to say stuff about beta weekends being not fun? Had he bought the game he would've been even more pissed off like some of the nerdrage on the forums about how they got ripped off because "can't log in" and want a refund.

Given that if he's not a gaming enthusiast I can understand, but just one google search will yield you all the information you need. Its not even that hard to do.

Sorry at any rate. I've been quite jaded by the amount of stupid that's been going on the multiple forums I frequent.

Edit: The explanation behind beta weekends is very simple. From a marketing standpoint, this is to generate hype and desire for the product. This is good for sales - its like having a bite of ice cream, you will want more. From a developer standpoint, it allows the devteam time to assess the shortcomings of each beta weekend and thus improve things for the next both for their datacenters as well as game content.

Logically speaking, there's no reason to not limit beta events. Blizzard is doing this with D3 and Bluehole Studios is doing this with TERA. The "open beta" farces you see on other MMOGs (namely those microtransaction oriented ones) are actual finished products passed off as being in the "beta" stage to give them wriggle room should any major slip ups occur.

The official forums are full of idiots why is why GW1 never had one. The original GWG was very organized and had mostly civilized posts because the administration was swift to punish stupidity.

Not anymore with GW2G. The official forums are even worse actually.

The descriptions should be placeholders Uncle. They were very concise with it in GW1 what. No need to worry.

Speaking of which, I will be forming Team Echo as a multi-role guild for those interested in pursuing any aspect of the game be it competitive PvP, PvE or just looking for friends or people to talk to.

Basically to have fun doing what you want to do with other people of the same mind. No commitments except for those who want to get into competitive PvP (you make your own commitments).

Any taker?

I considered that but..its not just Lowyat players but friends from all over the world. I've met and kept in touch with many people from across the world.

Suffice to say you'll be meeting nice people in the guild who are equally keen on playing and be getting exposure to people from various cultures One of my good friends is from Finland and you might hear stories.

I want people to have fun, so I thought I'd try to lead a guild dedicated to that for once.

I'm not too sure as I'll be staying in the UK for at least another year but eventually I plan to region transfer over to the US. My guild is for people who aren't from LYN and people from LYN who are keen on joining to find a common base to play with.

Of course we'll be multiguilding so there'll be enough freedom to choose who you want to represent at that time

I was also one of the officers for the EU Guru guild on Gandara, so its likely that I'll be helping with management there again.

I was extremely impressed with the currency exchange. It was almost like I was looking at a mini FOREX. Really cool.

Just the main ones (Power, Precision, Toughness etc). Prowess = strength.

I'll have to test it when I get in. If that's the case then it outstrips all other rune combinations completely.

Also my 10k crits are in game scenarios. I never tested them on the test dummies

You mad ah 360..Its 1 rune per armor piece and 6 armor pieces means you form a set = 60.

Spamming it won't do any good also

I suggest those who are planning to major as a thief in organized sPvP to spec into Shadow Arts. Sure you won't have the insane critical damage of a DA/CS thief but you gain the ability to mass poison, control and support your team.

ArenaNet's network architecture is good. Even on 500ms you should be fine - the problem you might have is you can't play in sPvP properly.

PvE is fine.
