im helping my friend with his iphone 4, im assuming it is locked set (cant activate with normal sim) and need ultranow. the problem is he updated to ios6 and now cant activate. no saved shsh

i saw the latest update of redanow allowing hacktivate, did it and able to bypass activation but no cydia. testing fresh restore and jb with redsnow to confirm again... any other method?

manage to restore back after pwned dfu using iReb, pwnd dfu using redsnow olwez get error 1601 dunno why....

then after jb with redsnow 0.9.1,5b2 then need boot thether, the iphone wont boot. did many2 times dunno why cant boot

the loading doesnt work, yep it's the correct version. but anyway i managed to solve it, turns out i hv no need to load the ipsw, only need to connect to the internet

locked set and updated to iOS 6? mostly likely he updated his baseband, which is irreversible. I'm not sure wat's the current method to fix this though

permanent unlock only can solved it but still cannot downgrade to ios 5.1.1...can only have tethered jb on ios 6..

download tinyumbrella and save the shsh first.
then cook a custom firmware with the shsh or run the tinyumbrella and then restore, if not the itunes will say error bcoz apple doesnt sign the 5.1.1 anymore


anyways, my friend's ip4 now bypassed the activation with latest redsnow but stuck at semi tethered mode ( can on n use but cannot use safari mail and cydia.) when itry to boot tether it wont work....

what should i do

WimpyKid, actually I am getting a bit bored with the iPhone. Was thinking the other day of getting the SIII but I think I'm going to try the Lumia 920 once it is released in 3-4 weeks. The wireless charging and the NFC technology is quite interesting.

I have a question here, currently my iPhone 4 is running on iOS 5.0.1 with untethered jailbreak, how can i clear all the content on my phone without restoring my iphone? as i know if i perform a restore it will be restored to the latest iOS, which is ios 6, so guys any way for me to clear to content?

Err the new Redsn0w support bypassing blobs, so there is no issues if you want to restore the same iOS version..

You cannot use other people's blobs. It won't work. The blobs are unique for each iPhone so if you want to do anything with your iphone, then it will have to have it's own blobs.

open ur cydia n see the top of it whether it stated shsh 5.1.1 or no..if yes just download ipsw 5.1.1 for iphone 4 gsm and download lates ver of redsnow..just restore using redsnow..

open redsnow hit extra>even more>restore>browse for ur ipsw>connect ur iphone(close itunes if it pop out once iphone connected)> click remote blobs> wait till it finish restore...

Guys i need help, im currently on iphone 4 5.1.1 jailbroken, i want to restore back to stock 5.1.1, but when i use redsnow, it stuck then it shows ERROR on my iphone, after that it goes straight to recovery loop on my iphone.

I've tried everything the closest i get is it manage to restore everything and almost 80% finish itunes show (-1) error, please help me out guys.

I have 5.1.1 saved on cydia, but i don't know why i can't restore, there's a lot of error i got 3194, 1600, but all i manage to pass except last step which is (-1), i almost cried tears of joy but now im so sad and tired cant think of any other way, ive done google but seems like no answer, please please help me out.
