If you have shsh for 5.0.1, Use ifaith with the saved blob and build a custom ipsw.

Once you are done with that, put your device into pwn dfu mode, open itunes click shift+ restore. point to the custom firmware and let it restore.

You're done!

Sometimes cydia shows 5.0.1 but if you check using tiny umbrella there is none saved.

Guess you ran out of luck. I tried 2 sets today and both failed to unlock using sam.

Not too sure which version you bought but most old version Gevey doesn't support iOS 5.1.

Guys,
Please take note that the Gevey Ultra & R-Sim IV doesn't unlock the latest basebands anymore. It is actually a copy of Loktar Sun's unlock.(SAM) mad.gif
Since the day apple closed the loophole in their activation server,this 2 versions of unlocks doesn't work. We have tested and confirmed.
If anyone tries to sell you,don't buy.

Currently no software or hardware unlock available. Only can replace the BB chip or factory unlock. Both quite expensive. smile.gif

Make sure they are not able to turn on the phone. The device is jb right? It might void the warranty. Restore it if you can before sending for claim.

The 2nd method works on a jailbroken device? i taught it will get stuck on apple logo . Correct me if i'm wrong. smile.gif

overmars,

Do a backup on your current device, fresh restore to 5.1.1. ( Make sure your device is not a lock set like what maeng129 mentioned above)

Once done you can follow this guide to jailbreak your device here if you are using windows or here if you are using mac. Hope it helps. smile.gif
