If you unistall it then you will lose the untether. It is safe to update the one in Cydia as it only add the support fot iPad 2 with the new A5 chip as mentioned by Azraeil

QUOTE(azraeil @ May 31 2012, 01:18 AM) The new version is to jailbreak the new iPad 2 (the one with a newish 32nm A5 chip) So if you have successfully jailbroken at absinthe 2.0, there is no need to rejailbreak. Thanks for that! QUOTE(joonwei23 @ May 31 2012, 06:40 AM) Rocky Raccoon 5.1.1 unthetered update on Cydia safe to update? For ip4s. Just saw it earlier. Thanks Safe to upgrade from what I hear. saw this msg in facebook. noob here. does that mean after rocky racoon untethered exploit we cant jailbreak anymore.TIA
Apple is currently working on a patch for the Rocky Racoon Untethered exploit, so a new firmware will be released to patch 5.1.1. This means that if you are not jailbroken, you need to do it NOW! And if you are jailbroken, but Cydia hasn't saved your SHSHs yet. Then you need to use TinyUmbrella to do so. Please spread the word!! -AK

If you jailbreak using Absinthe, absinthe will install Cydia with built-in Rocky Racoon package installed. This Rocky Racoon package is the one that is allowing the untethered jailbreak. So when a new version for Rocky Racoon packaged is released by the Dev Team, this new version will appear as an update/upgrade in Cydia. There is no harm upgrading as the package is updated to accomodate different devices. The first update was to accomodate the iPhone 4 with the new build 9B208 while the latest update is to accomodate the iPad 2,4 (the iPad 2 with the new 32nm A5 chip). If you don't mind seeing the badge in Cydia then you don't need to upgrade.

No need to rejailbreak actually. If you have successfully jailbroken on absinthe 2.0.2, then all you have to do is to upgrade the Rocky Racoon package in cydia and you'll be on the latest jailbreak package.

It depends, my ip4s is running on 5.1.1 for about a week before the jb released. The jailbreak just couldn't complete, I need to restore in order to have cydia.

Anyone know why Cydia keep throwing the HTTP/1.1 403 Forbidden error whenever I tried to download anything? Even downloading tweak(s) give the same error.
