Thats because Apple already stop signing 5.0.1. The only firmware you can go is 5.1.

Did you install 'Data Usage' app from Cydia?

I for one vote for pod2g to hold off the jailbreak but like he said, many people are stuck with 5.1 OTB like ipad 3 and ATV. Just hope when iOS6 comes out, they can find other exploit to use.

IMHO, going from 5.0.1 to 5.1 is not that significant of an upgrade to waste the exploits (7 exploit in total to get the untether) hence they should hold the JB. That's just my 2 cents.

If not mistaken, internet tethering (personal hotspot) only appears after a carrier update? Maybe this can help

They are demonstrating the JB at HITB, not confirmed if they're releasing it at the same time. The sos tomato also kinda speculate on this.

Looks like the culprit is zodttd repo. Cydia kept on trying until time out.

If you kept on getting http 101 error or something, keep on trying to install. You will punch thru. I've already installed most of my tweaks already.

And I don't need to reconfigure everything back since itunes backup the preference files even for cydia apps (Not the apps itself). Install back the apps from cydia and the apps already configured like before upgrade.

p/s - Azraeil have been a busy bee after Absinthe release. Kudos to you and those who willing to give up their time in helping others.

To others that thinking only to install cracked/warez/'free' app either from Cydia or AppStore, go somewhere else. This is not a community that support piracy. Jailbreaking is never about piracy. Cheapskates and pirates are not welcome here

I don't use MxTube but Yourtube 3 instead. Once I install back Yourtube 3, the video list I've downloaded are there but I have to manually copy back the videos to the Yourtube folder. Beats having to redownload those 720p videos back.

Need to research where activator stores it's pref file so no need to reconfigure activator.

Battery life same as before upgrade. 4 1/2 hours usage on 3G and 12 hours ++ standby. Already did battery calibration. Maybe see within this few days.

I think the best way not to dabble with hosts file is thru Tiny Umbrella. Just one click and it's done.

If you always sync with your PC, there's no need to transfer purchase. Everytime you sync, any apps downloaded from iPhone will automatically transfered to iTunes unless you never sync to that particular PC before.

Go to BiteSMS -> Settings (the gear icon) -> Quick Reply -> Alert Style -> Use Apple settings

Make sure in notifications, you set the original message to the banner style

It hooks to stock Apple Messaging app.

If you unistall it then you will lose the untether. It is safe to update the one in Cydia as it only add the support fot iPad 2 with the new A5 chip as mentioned by Azraeil
