I hope so too, really keen on a ICS ROM and kernel that is stable for daily use.

Right now I have an issue where the phone reboots when an notification arrives when using JKay Deluxe lockscreen... it worked fine on GB!
Also having issues when using flashlight.. when started from lockscreen and then turned off using quick settings toggle... something that was not possible to do before as you could not use the statusbar from the lockscreen!

And I still want to add features to the ICS lockscreen!!!!! I havn't even looked at it yet so I have no idea how long that will take..

I want to create an option so you can use the statusbar when your phone is secured with pin/pattern/facelock and you have toggled secure mode off using the quick settings button...

I also want to add long press home button features when on lockscreen...

I want to add another cool auto-brightness feature too...

I have wasted a lot of time trying to fix the CRT effect.. trying get overscroll effect toggles to work... Trying to get the transparent lockscreen to work... Again... things that worked fine on GB!!

So... Eta? no idea...

Hi, I plan to flash my s2 from GB to ICS. I will do the full wipe for it

Btw as I know, wipe data wont erase the data in internal memory.
Since the internal memory got a lot of data file and apps folder from previous GB rom, will it affect the ICS stability? or I hv to format it in Setting -> Storage after I flash the ICS rom?

green power indeed have lesser wakelock compare to juice defender but there is still some minor abt 100 over alarm shown on BBS alarm

but seems that green power always turn on my wifi when ever i screen on
how to disable that?

Added on April 27, 2012, 8:41 amit seems that on resseruction remix i was able to move all the app data to internal storage instead of external storage

did a test by unmounting external sd card, and still be able to move app to sd card
previously on GB, thebryani unable to do so

Is ICS already available for malaysian set?
When I use my S2 to check the software update, it is asking for the samsung account. Do I need to have the samsung account for the ICS update? Is there any other way to update withour registering a account?

One more question is since my S2 is original (no root) set, how to backup all my installed apps and games before the update? Is there software available to do the backup or I can just copy all the folders from my S2 to PC and copy back from PC to S2 after the software update?

If camera firmware beginning is SC, then its fujitsu, if sony is OM something like that if im not mistaken. Mine is fujitsu unit i flashed sieg03 firmware to remove pink spot and choppiness. So far ok now, but no flashlight

decided to try wanamlite since many have said it's quite stable... flashed it with siyah 3.1.2. as well did the whole factory reset and everything and flashed wanamlite 11.3

have been having random freezes and battery drains... not consistent though....

anyone experiencing the same thing?

everything else seems to be working fine...

wah.. don't scare me leh.. today's plan was to try wanamlite one leh..   

by the way, speedmod on my phone causing a lot lags in games.. so now back to siyah...

if downgrade, still need to wipe all data ah?

I not Samsung fan boy. Just s2 fan boy, s2 and note is the only thing good from Samsung.

Have a galaxy tab 10.1, its like rubbish, lag like hell with honeycomb 3.1.
Much slower than s2 in every aspect. I complained and rant at tab10 forum, sifus there scold me and ask me stop whining and start reading.
Did as they mention, learn to root and lash custom rom. Now my tab running ics and over clock to 1.4ghz.
Performance and general UI smoothness on par with s2.

I just flashed wanamlite... and the browser does seem to be a tad snappier...

however... I feel like the text rewrapping behaves differently... When i choose to autofit the pages, the text will align to how it would be viewed if it were zoomed close EVEN IF we zoom out to view the full page. when i deselect the autofit option, the text refits back normally to full page but when we double tap to zoom in, it doesn't rewrap properly(obviously)...

I just don't really like how it looks when it doesn't unwrap when i zoom out. Anyone having the same thing?

Hopefully by the time we have LTE, at least 3G coverage IS available anywhere within Malaysia but all the carriers. Travelling on PLUS without a decent connection speed can be rather boring.

guys, im having a BIG problem with my SGS2 and i want to ask opinion from you guys who had faced this problem before and/or solved it.

my sgs2 was bought last july with maxis 1.5gb 2years package.

i went for a vacation at the beach yesterday and i think some of the sand went into my phone thru the charging place (at the btm there, u know where ) and now it is having problem when i try to charge my phone. most of the time it wont charge when i plug it in, i need to unplug it and plug it back for like 2-3 attempts, and then only it will start charging. when i remove the charger, my phone remains charging for the next 30 seconds or so. the problem comes here; when i off my phone, the charging logo (big battery with green colors) will be there even when the charger is not on or not plugged it. and the logo will become empty (no green colors) with some yellow "!" warning logo with temperature logo on the right. then it became back green battery logo, then become empty with this warning logo again, for forever. under this state, i was unable to boot my phone at all. i tried removing the battery and putting it back, but it still remains same. the only way i can on my phone back is by charging it.

so now my question is, do i bring my phone back to maxis for warranty ? will they provide an one-to-one exchange ? if not, how long will the warranty period be? what do i need to prepare for bringing it back to warranty ? coz i think i kinda lost the receipt, maybe i just have the sgs2 box

i tried doing the things u taught...i started off with the brush and the problem still exists...but it solved my 'unable to boot phone' problem, i just had to remove the battery and insert it back, and the phone will boot ITSELF. i had no luck with the method of raising the usb small board and blowing it. so i guess in my case, i think the port is spoilt and the only way to fix it is to change the flex cable board. but if i were to buy that and replace it myself, does that void my phone warranty since i had to 'open' my phone ?

I think there is no need to buy S3 if you currently have a nonG S2, what do others think @@

What non-G doesn't hang...same also...don't kid yourself. Both version has it's own set of problems. G solves some heat problem but compromise a little performance. But when it comes to hanging...it's a Samsung ™....
LOL. Just live with it, as long as not too often, then it's ok.

btw, i use my S2 for watching movies stream over WIFI from my server..all the TV dramas...tab too bright, whole room becomes bright liao.....disturb wife....S2 is just small enough and light...much better...hands don't get tired holding S2...if holding tab, kennot lar...sometimes i drop the S2 because fall asleep while watching.....if holding tab....BANG!!!!....on my face...haha...and i got my earphones plugged in, so not comfortable if put at side and turn head over...

i like to use this..

think you should think of sending your phone to SC or sell it off cheap.. something is wrong here, as most of us don't have hang issues.. at most, my friends will complain of battery life, one said 30% drained at night.. well, most of them non-rooted, so I dunno what to recommend them beside juice defender.. 

Mine also drained ~15% at night.. but mine's background sync is on.. and also testing siyah's kernel which (for ICS) quite infamous for the wakelocks..
