the gap between the pad and the speaker is quite large, u can u can put thick fold of tissue like in the pic above.
i agree the pads are quite stiff, plus they were easily sweated after use for a long time

how long the time to fully burn in, depends on how frequent, and what type of song u play.

for me, i used everyday around 1-2 hours per session with lappy and mp3 player, around 3 sessions per day.

for songs type,i listens to bass-heavy songs, clear mid and high songs, and sometimes i play around with frequency tests video in youtube.

one song i remember is Astronomia-Tony Igy.

For audio quality, i think it does not matter, i have .flac, 320 kbps, 192 kbps mp3 to play around.

u will know the 668B is burned-in when u feel comfort with the sound projections. Because the early time u used the 668B, the SQ was not comfortable enough to hear.

i do feel that the treble is too sharp, maybe after some burning will feel better

i paid RM 75 iirc to one guy here in lyn, he were selling custom cables for variety purposes.

that cable is quite thick u know, the first time i touch it, wow!

then, after i got the cable, i bought an amp, FiiO E6 (Fujiyama) for RM110.

this amp got 4 EQ settings (treble boost, bass boost, EQ-3, flat)

I also use custom cable gotham gac4/1+Canare F12 plugs for my HD668B. Used it with Asus Xonar U7, after 200hours run in the cable and headphone, now sound great!~

i actually removed the tissue mod long time ago, now fit it with cotton wool which has much better sound insulation

since all superlux is around the same price, which is better in terms of sound quality and comfort?
just using for gaming and movies only..

i got the HD661 when it first arrived to shore.
its a luv and hate relationship. luv the design, and detachable cable but hate the clamping pressure.

the hate made me stay away from the HD631. I am traveling extensively real soon and was wondering which superlux performs well in a plane.

the HD685 looks interesting but yet to surface.

Any other recommendation ?

interesting ! i once used the 661 on my flight and my head was running with sweats at the end of the flight.


how bout the superlux earphones? are they awesome to minimize noise in a plan?

for hd381...they are semi open earphone...there will be sound leakage...
