TOTAL WAR BATTLES
I used to use nova as well but when on live wall paper and drawer is not full black the drawer has a slight lag when swiping around. At least when compared to quad core devices. So i took the plunge and tried and bought holo HD. And damn all things equal holo HD is so so so so much smoother especially in the app drawer! Tho i notice its a bit unstable when switching protrait and landscape. I lock it to portrait and allow device to free rotate for browsing and etc and no way going back to nova Ps Total War series has come to android! I did a review d and just uploaded it to my blog d. Will post in pinned thread soon but here is the copy paste First and foremost this blogger has got to admit he is a total total war fan. absolutely love the series. for the uninitated total war is a strategy game on the pc where you build up cities, manage diplomacy and then wage war in epic real time strategy. Sounds great? It is! Unfortunately this android version is very very different from the pc version. It carries the same name but gameplay isnt the same. Part puzzle and a hybrid real time turn based strategy this game is still incredibly fun to play. The puzzle part is in the campaign btw where there are some optional missions u can perform where you need to complete some tasks using limited resources and pure brain power. The battles are incredibly fun. Theres definitely plenty of units to choose from, both ranged, melee and supporting. And each unit has pros and cons. Eg stronger against some, weaker against some. The balance is pretty good. Think of those many lane games available on android where you start at one end and the enemy on another end, and you recruit units to send and charge against the enemy. Its similar. Except you have more than one lane. And you can command your units to start or stop moving forward (but not backward). And they can attack (melee) adjacent lanes. And each unit xan also be ordered to change lanes (but there is a cool down) combine this with the complex scissors paper stone unit strategy and support units and terrain and you have yourself a pretty fun and intense strategy game. The battle animations and graphics and narratives are pretty sweet as well. You can see em dodge, parry, impale and slice your enemies. Not sure if there is an element of chance or dice roll or not but based on what ive played i would guess yes. Oh and also it has simultaneus 2 player multiplayer on the same device. Ill be playing this in my phone and keeping it in my note 10.1 tablet for multiplayer for sure. It may not be the same as the pc total war series but this is still a keeper! https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?....sega.twbshogun http://underratedandroidgames.blogspot.com/ This post has been edited by Baronic: Sep 11 2012, 01:06 AM |

SPECTRAL SOULS AND BLAZING SOULS
ooking for some awesome turn based rpg strategy ala final fantasy tactics style? Look no further than Spectral Souls and its sequel, Blazing Souls. You control characters in a turn based strategy, using wits and skills to win battles and advance the storyline. These games are actually ports of the PsP version, but they are very very well ported and a joy to play through. They are also definitely console quality games and the price tag reflects that. The story line is deep and makes Final fantasy tactics look kiddie like in comparison. Also gameplay is much more complex and unique, focusing on how u organise your team to combo hits on enemy units rather than having a few IMBA units or characters to win the game ala FF Tactics. You gotta chain your attacks, ordering units to charge skill and making another unit attack the same target. Whrn this happens your other charging unit will join the attack and create combo chains which increase overall total damage. But if your charging unit is attacked his charge is lost. Thats sorta like the gist of it tho there are more features like combining attack A and Attack B can create a more powerful attack C. Ill let the game tutorial teach it to you. Also this game has a world map and in order to advance the story you'll find yourself controlling more than one faction, often several factions, in order to see the story from different points of view. You wont be playing the same battle though just with different factions. For example there is an event A, which you can complete with either faction A or Faction B. Once u complete that event with either faction the story moves on and the things u can do with either faction changes and the plot reveals itself during intermissions of either factions. Interesting concept as you play the bad guy, the good guy, and some other guys and then you suddenly realise, wtf, i have no idea who the bad guy is any more they all seem to have a point. Very matured. But for the linear gamers can be a bit confusing as its hard to form a direct bond with any one particular character as you must understand and sympathise with all factions. A great console game. A must have for fans of the genre. Oh and did i mention these games are EXCLUSIVE for android. Hah eat that apple fans XD https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?...e=search_result https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?...e=search_result http://underratedandroidgames.blogspot.com/ |

QUOTE(PleaseEnterYourName @ Sep 13 2012, 09:43 PM) Im a fan of total war too.. but so far i haven bought any android games yet. Just wanna know if its worth it to buy for 5 dollars... if its .99 i would buy it in an instant... and those blazing souls.. 15 dollar each. thats kinda high.. iono if the content in android apps going to be the same with normal pc games. i mean in terms of playing time and network play. Freemium games are actually more expensive. And u cant enjoy those games to the fullest. 0.99 is three bucks u realise. And 5 buck is like 15 ringgit. These arent java games but full fledged games and the blazing souls is a psp port. Aka console game quality. So yea. U pay for what u get. The games that i recommend i only do so if theyre good lol. U can find all that i recommended in my blog (non main stream games). Treat it this way. If devs cant make a living they just stop making games. Pretend u belanja them starbucks for a good game . Thetotal war u will either hate it or love it. I finished the campaign in two full solid hooked days and there is instant action and multiplayer too. Its a keeper. But replayability in terms of campaign u may wanna try others. fyi im a new android phone user so may i know for how long continuous usage that is ok for phone? @@ Right now im playing those free games from com2us and gamevil developers. its a freemium model game so its understandable if its hard to play for free players.. and emm, should i make reviews for the free games? I rather pay one shot for a game and enjoy it then have em follow stupid gameloft. Even their paid games are still pay to win games. Thats just greedy and i never support gameloft anymore |

Dont give me that bullshit story u cant afford game but can afford statbucks a new phone and all your accesories. Its people like u that make developers not want to develop for us. They have no money to feed their children. Thanks. Next time no more good devs will make stuff for us. Is that what u want? Can afford a few hundred bucks phone cannot afford a mobile game. U should be ashamed of yourself. Its like u see everyone here trying to clean up the environment and u buy and use a lot of plastic bags because u cannot "afford" a reusable paper bag. Douche. Also heres your warn.

I played chaos rings in ios. Graphics nice but for me was quite a lot of grinding and i prefered the final fantasy series despite the "lower" graphics

QUOTE(mydragoon @ Oct 19 2012, 03:51 PM) honestly, i have always stayed away from a few companies -- Gameloft is one of them. besides that in game purchase, permissions requested is another thingy... i cant remember. i only know its a steal at 2.99 or 6usd or even 10USD (rm30) cuz its a true console quality RPG game.Added on October 19, 2012, 4:36 pm hmmmm A Bard's Take is selling for only usd2.99... says there 50% week. @Baronic did you pay this price or higher? i might just grab a copy first... then play later. the dialogue and script keeps u going, no rubbish kill x amount of monsters like all the other noob korean style rpgs out there. the dialogue isnt one way either, u can choose what to say back to npc and what u say back has actually consequences in what u do for the mission, the rewards u get, and the story line. this isnt a "loot" rpg tho as in u dont get like weapon drops ala diablo style. customisation comes from the creatures u summon (you're a bard remember), and as u level higher and buy new equipment u can mix and match your summon creatures to create strategies that suit u. and then some monsters will come along and totally rhape your summon creatures and u gotta think of new methods. so it isnt a hack and slash mindlessly like Zenonia, its more like a.... almost like a thinking rpg. u can block attacks, or attack far away from bows (which i found to be easiest heh heh, let my summons tank). but even if u specialise in bow attacks u can still melee, still can do decent damage (cuz when enemy starts whacking u melee, u cant use bow, only works at range) PROTIP : save OFTEN whenever u see a save point. altho there is autosave where u can continue if u shut game down without saving, if u DIE, u can only respawn from last manual save point This post has been edited by Baronic: Oct 19 2012, 06:37 PM |

QUOTE(Dar1en @ Oct 25 2012, 03:11 PM) to each his own. OnC appears to be abandonned by Gameloft. they too busy only updating for iphone. It was last updated in July i think. and there is a bug that makes the mage totally USELESS. its most useful skill is flame blast and it immediately finishes cooldown if u score a critical hit. its the most important spell for the mage. But since last update it has a bug where it doesnt refresh cooldown. at all. period. so mages are now food for every other character. Such a core bug has not been fixed in months. Not to mention to pvp and dungeon updates. so yes, dont support gameloft.can get very repetitive but I like to play it to kill time. Order and Chaos looks promising too. Anyone tried it yet? |
