I take it u're trying to do it in FS2004

Start by lining up with the ILS , then just follow the indicators . Make small adjustments only . Just a couple taps of the keyboard shud be enough .  Dont flare too early  smile.gif

Alternatively , u can utilize the auto -land feature . Just turn on the auto approach . Do this when or before u're about 8 nm out . if u do it too late , the plane will starting swaying to the left and right

Hope that helps

Cheers, nice to see people playing FS here.

Basicly elaborating more from Corad, using a keyboard i would suggest you doing an autoland.

First of all you need the frequency of the ILS of the runway your landing on. Lets say runway 32R of KLIA is 123.22 (fictional).

You need to punch those into your Nav1 reading in your Radio Stack.

Follow the ATC instruction as they will instruct you to be prepared for ILS approach on runway 32R. On about 15-18 NM from the runway OR once you see your Localiser and Glidescope on your PFD, you will press the APP button on the panel. Localiser and Glidescope are two purple things in your PFD which shows ur pitch, attitude and airspeed. Localiser controls your heading while glidescope controls your height.

Once APP is applied, you will notice the plane turn and pitch down and it will auto align with the runway. Just monitor everything patiently, remember to DISARM your autothrottle, throttle must be manually handled when approach (this only happens if your flying FS systems and not more complicated planes like PMDG or PSS). Manually keep your speed at landing speed, not too fast and when around 20 feet Above the Runway, turn your throttle to IDLE, and pitch up a little bit (Flare) to make a smooth landing.

Once touching the ground, just punch your spoilers and reversers if needed and you will be on the ground. Basicly these are the norm of an ILS landing which i suggest you to do since you do not have a joystick. Visual Landing is pain without joystick.

The landing i described above is nothing like real life! If you would want to have a feel you could consider flying more sophisticated aircraft with fully functional FMC's such as the PMDG 737 or 747.

Moreover Happy landings!

P/S: I suggest you to buy a joystick. A decent logitech attack 3 wont cost more than an 100.

but AA is AntiAliasing, just share what graphic card you using, those pics just looks awesome

Im using a 9600XT. Nothing special there.

Those pics are sharpened using adobe photoshop and have it's color balanced.

AA is anti aliasing, but FS AA is just plain rubbish. Use AA on your GraphicCard setting and disable it in FS.

Trust me it works..

AA in FS murders your frames and dont look that good either.

its just a simulation, hence no missions and stuff. Normal people find it extremely boring but to plane enthutiasts, it could be the best game in the world.

Anotehr shot ! This is taken on approach to Sydney, passing some suburban residential areas..

oh, i do agree with you at FS its kind of plain and simple.

But if you go for 3rd party planes, not default FS, they're sophisticated ones as well!

Using navigational charts, FMC's, reading thick manuals.
